Put your question here ...anyone know about americanfinancialcard.net? They said they were sending me a credit card and now I cant find web site

Hi Kitcattaylor,

There must have been some error in the site at the time you had tried to open.

I tried and it is opening now. This kind of thing sometimes happens, may be they were making some changes at that time.

Hi Randy Nichols,

After googling about the company I found out that the company is known for its bad business. The company has complains in ripoffreport.com (Site for bad service Reporting).Debtsncolidationcate has a discussion on it. You can go though the discussion http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/about7226-6.html.

I would advise you to call you bank and cancel/stop the payment.

First and foremost, PRIOR TO signing up for anything
online or off, ALWAYS read, and re-read, if necessary,
the "Terms and Conditions" section.

This company AMERICAN FINANCIAL CARD
a/k/a AMERICAN FINANCIAL MERCHANT FINANCE
did NOT deceive anyone or falsely advertised
anything. I believe that the FTC will agree.
Now on the other hand, IF AFMF failed to deliver
what they had promised, that IS fraud and deception,
which should be reported to the FTC, your State
Attorney General, and AFMF State Attorney General
immediately.

As far as I can understand, Everything (as
unfavorable as it is) IS Upfront and in writing,
IF people would take the time to read and
understand. And don't be anxious for new
credit or financing !!!

AFMF states in their Introduction Page that
this is NOT affiliated with Visa, M/C or any
other major credit card. STOP right there
because most likely you were looking for
a Visa or MasterCard with a $2000 Credit
Limit !!!

In other words, AFMF IS a Merchant Card
good only with the Merchant itself,
AMERICAN FINANCIAL.

AFMF state in their very clear and certain
(although unfavorable) "Terms and Conditions"
that for $200 (plus $15, plus some other
"unknown" Fees to be deducted from your
Checking Account) they will send to you
four (4) - $50 PAYMENT Vouchers to be used
towards PAYMENTS on the Balance of your
American Financial Merchant Finance
Account
. AFMF does NOT state, they will
send you a credit card.

In other words, for $200+ they will setup an
American Financial Merchant Finance
Account for you with a $2000 Credit Line.
Something like, let's say a, FINGERHUT
Merchant Account. You may only use
their $2000 Credit Line to purchase
AFMF overpriced cheap products.

AFMF will allow you to purchase their, i.e.,
$30 Camera (Manufacture Suggested Retail
Price - MSRP) for $200 on your AFMF Account
and pay them using 1- $50 Voucher at a time.

Also, listed in their "Terms and Conditions"
there is a $10 per month INACTIVITY FEE
to be billed QUARTERLY (and most likely deducted
from your Checking Account). That's $10 Fee
per month, when you buy NOTHING that month(s).
Three months of Inactivity, will cost you $30,
which is billed (or deducted) Quarterly.

That sounds like a lot of bookkeeping for me. I
would have checks bouncing, IF I fail to remember
to deduct their Inactivity Fees, QUARTERLY. My
memory is not that great !!!

I find there is NOTHING that is fraudulent or
deceptive about this company. Where the
Terms and Conditions are very, very unfavorable
for me and my family, I would NOT sign up for
anything. In fact, they would have to
pay us BIG time to do business with them !!!

FYI: ALWAYS carefully read and re-read any
contract before making a financial commitment
and disclosing your banking information.

FYI: In the future, for Members here, BEFORE
signing up for anything, POST your questions
and concerns here, and allow other Members to
scrutinize the "Terms and Conditions" for you or
explain things. NEVER be anxious for new credit
and/or financing.

Finally, I will be posting a Sticky or NEW Thread on
how to enhance your FICO credit scores, WITHOUT
applying for or obtaining new credit or financing.

Enrollment with Pay Rent, Build Credit (PRBC) is
FREE. You pay only for "Verification" of the HISTORY
of your existing accounts. That is $15 per account
($20 for a Rent account). Therefore, one Rent account
with 3 other accounts for Verification will cost $65 total.
Your PRBC Account is set up for FREE, and Verified for
a $65 fee. There are no hidden costs.

Within 10-14 days, you will be able to supplement or
enhance your current credit scores with the Bills you
are currently paying, such as, Rent, Mobile
phones, Telephones, Utility bills, Storage fees,
Parking Garage fees, etc.

If you are excited and cannot wait for my Sticky,
Visit www.PRBC.com. Then post your questions
and/or concerns in a NEW Thread.
Remember, we are here to help you.

I hope this helps.

it seems that this was the old name for the american financial card and the address. I've made some research and find out that they changed the name because of the scam. we should do something to get the money back.
I reccomend to go over this page too.

I recommend anybody go to the BBB site and check out this company. They are not a good company to deal with (maybe not a scam, but the next thing to it)

Hi

I am posting late but i think it is really necessary to be thorough with the terms and conditions when you get into contract with any company. Thus while taking a credit card it is important that you know the pros and cons. Just not blindly follow what a salesperson has to say.

There are various marketing tactics which camouflage certain conditions and you take the risk of using the card ultimately getting into a mess. Its better to act prudently than to follow blindly.

This is just a piece of personal advice.
Good Luck.

I completely agree with Park Avenue and Laura.

The internet has lots of scam going. Its better to stay on the safe side.

Cheers!! :)

yes American financial card is a scam. currently a class action suit is in the works against them. I lost 200 to them and now can't get ahold of anybody from that company. I have also reported them to the better business bureau in Florida. Good luck to everyone.
