Do you mean you DID file BK, but, you're behind in car payments? I suggest you call the lender ( concerning the car) and see what you can work out. Sometimes you can make Interest Payments to catch up your loan.

To answer your query, I need two answers - Firstly, is your car debt included in the bankruptcy and secondly, have you filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy and making regular payments to repay off the debt. Now if your car loan is under the Chapter 13 bankruptcy and you are late for 90 days, you should immediately contact the creditor and inform them of the situation. However, if the car repayment is not included in the bankruptcy, then there is a possibility of repossessing your car. If this is the case, then you should pay off the outstanding amount immediately.

Hi Seknowles
You said that you have credit problems. Is it because you have late payments which you have not been able to pay back like your car payment as you said. If it is the case, then as Carol said, you should immediately take cash advance from your employer or your friend or take a loan and pay it off as soon as possible because all auto loans come under repossession agreement and you can lose your car if you fall behind your payments.

Since you have fallen behind your auto loans, there may be repossession of your car because the creditor may not accept the late payments and sell off your car to recover the debt. So you should immediately try and pay it off. If they accept even with late fees, you can save your car. Never try to make late payments on auto loan and mortgage loan. Now since you have already filed bankruptcy last year, your credit score must be very low and so you should start repairing your credit. For this you should start improving your credit history again.

If you filed for a bankruptsy you can not get it off your credit report for 7 years so my advice would be to find a way to catch up on these late car payments. If they rep[osses the vehicle it will look even worse on your credit and that combined with the bankruptsy can leave you with a real credit challenge and probaly unable to finanace another car if you let this one go back. I would catch those car payments up as soon as possible and maybe call the company or bank to see what they can do to help you.

Hey seknowles65,
The previous posts are asking the right questions. There is no good advice without good data so the sequence of events is critical to your ability to fix your problem. Was the BK a 13 or 7? Was the vehicle (s) included in the BK? Has the BK since been discharged? What is the reason your currently behind on the payments?

These are all important questions for the solving of your problem. Let me say this, it can be overcome with proper guidence and follow through. You can overcome your BK and these issues but you need to decide on what kind of credit life you want and start taking action now.

If you want to provide more info, maybe I or others in this forum can help.

Hello, MEETTHECREDITCOACH..............Welcome to the forum. I haven't 'seen' you on before. Well.........I would like to say I know I need some 'coaching' ( not that I'm NOT getting good advice on this forum..LOL). Back to the 'car late payment' thing. Sometimes lenders will let you make an % payment to bring your account back to 'current'. You might want to ask about that.

What are the difference between bank 7 and bank 13? I know they redid the laws or rules on one of them and I hear there is no such thing now of being forgiven on your debts. From what I have seen or read all debts must now be repaid and there is no more wiping the slate clean of debt. I too welcome you coach. Look forward to posting with you here.

A friend of mine is thinking about filing for BK. She went to a Credit Counsler to ask about her 'options', concerning BK......from what I understand, they din't really tell her much of anything. She is really confused. I don't know if you can STILL 'wipe the slate clean' or not. However.........there are alot of commercials, on TV, claiming you can. Any advice to give her?
