My chapter 13 bankruptcy was dismissed after two weeks because I lost my job. Can they still report this on my credit reports? Since I was never actually in bankruptcy this seems unfair.

If I were you I would call a lawyer who deals only in bankruptcy and tell him your situation. He would be much more educated on the new laws that pertain the Chapter 13. Many Lawyers will give a few minutes of advice over the phone in hopes that you willretain their services if you need a lawyer.

WHERE did you file for BK? I'm assuming through a lawyer. Some people do this 'on their own'..sort-to-speak. Wherever that was, you may want to talk to THEM to see what you can do. They may find a way to 'dismiss' it off of your CR.

As far as I know, any dismissed Chapter 13 bankruptcy remain in your credit report for 7 years and any dismissed Chapter 7 bankruptcy remains in your credit report for 10 years.
