Hi ajjmandy
Free credit report.com offers credit report from Experian and not from Transunion. However, if you want to dispute any negative listing with Transunion, you can visit their site "http://annualcreditreport.transunion.com/entry/disputeonline?" Alternatively, you can send them a dispute letter by certified mail at the below address
TransUnion Consumer Solutions
P.O. Box 2000
Chester, PA 19022-2000

Hi ajjmandy
Before you dispute any listing with the credit bureaus, you should first check whether the listing is correct or not. If it is a hard inquiry listing, you should first ask the inquirer to prove your authorization for the hard inquiry they have made. If they cannot prove your authorization, ask them to remove credit inquiries from your report. If they do not remove it, then dispute it with the bureaus. Again, if there is a debt listing in your credit report, send DV letters to the creditors whose name appears in your report. If they cannot validate the debt within 30 days of receipt of your letter, you should then send a dispute letter to the bureaus asking them to remove the listing.

There may be a slight variation in the listings in the report of the three credit bureaus. This is because the creditors may have reported the debt to one of the bureaus and has missed out the other. This does not mean that you do not owe the debt. So as Carol said, you should first check send a DV letter on the basis of the report where the debt is listed. Only if they cannot validate the debt, you should dispute the listing with the bureaus.

Subject: Verizon Account#5162854315545

The account mentioned above was closed in April 2008. I returned all the equipment associated with the service. The Set Top box and Remote was returned to a Verizon bldg, Verizon sent me a return label for UPS to return their Router and I did. The disputed bill is for the Router, I obtained a tracking Record from UPS showing the package was delivered in PA. Since I sent the tracking record, in May, I never had any correspondence with Verizon or any collection agency. I learned of this claim of delinqency when Sears informed me that they were cancelling my Mastercard.

Hi Credit Solution
You can always dispute online with the credit bureaus by visiting their site. After filing the dispute, you will get a reference number and you need to keep this reference number for future correspondence. You can also take a screen shot of the reference number. Filing a dispute online is a very easy process and it will save your dollars which would have otherwise gone for postage for certified mail.

Justin you are very correct here but sometimes postal mail is better if you want to explain in more detail or send along proof.

It takes 2-3 rolls of stamps, envelopes, time, credit application to clear up your credit report. Get denied for credit* Then recieve your credit report then dispute the ones that are not yours and do this everyday, until they remove it off your trw. Demand proof that it's really your acct! And the companies you owe pay $5.00 a month or more showing current on your payments, Until they are paid in full. Anything over 7years has to be removed off your TRW. Dont pay someone, do it yourself!

Yes, even the FTC prefer you to repair your credit by yourself. This is because repairing credit is not at all a very difficult task and it takes only time and patience to repair it. Now, there are hundreds of credit repair agencies and it is very difficult to judge which one is a scam and which one is not. Moreover, if you repair your credit by yourself you can save dollars and use this money to pay back your debt.

Once transunion completes online investigation, and you have more items to dispute, why will it not let you do so? Is there a time limit on this or another workaround without doing the mailing process? Anybody have this problem?

As far as I know, within 30 days the bureaus should inform you of the outcome of your dispute you made through the bureaus. You can get a copy of your credit report to be sure of the inaccuracies. After this, I think you can again dispute other items in your credit report it you think it to be incorrect.

Since it is the case of identity theft, you should first file an online complaint form by visiting the FTC website and become a registered victim of identity theft. After that you need to call 1-877-438-4338 and update the complaint and then file a complaint with the local police station.

Hi Billy Jackson Shaw,Sr.

In addition to filing a complaint with FTC as Justin mentions, you should also report the identity theft to all the major credit bureaus and all your creditors. Contact the collection agencies (CA) from where you have received the bills explain to them in writing that you have been a victim of fraud. Ask the CA to verify from the original creditor and confirm to you in writing that you do not owe the debt and the accounts have been closed.

Bankruptcy is a negative remark that in most states stays on your credit report for 10 years . So the Sears account would remain on your credit report till 10/10.
