Once you have signed a loan application. Can you back out of the deal? I purchased a car yesterday, and the pmt is to high for me.
Epperson said once I signed. The deal was done!!!
No changing mind or getting a cheaper car.
HELP!!! Is there a time limit to change my mind?

Hi Diane
the federal law does necessitates the dealers to give used cars a three day right to cancel (cooling off period). However you can return the car and take refund of your money only if the dealer gives you this privilege. Before purchasing the car you should have asked your dealer about the return policy and should have got it in writing.

I agree with Laura on the point that unlike housing loans, car loans do not necessarily have a cooling off period and so it is advisable to know the return policy or the money back guarantee policy of the dealer before purchasing and get it in writing.

Did the dealer clearly explain what the monthly payments would be, DIANE?? I know sometimes we get 'caught up' in the excitement of getting a vehicle, etc. Just need to look at what you sign.

Yes, definately, they can hide the stuff in the fine print that will come back and bite you later. I don't purchase any extra warranty or any of the extras, except for the gap insurance and that is only because I purchased the vehicle in the middle of winter.
