Keke, Have you found any good cards that will report to the credit bureaus so a person could get their credit rebuilt? I have not seen many around here. There are some listed under another posters (doc) website and it really explains soem about the cards advanrtages. You could always check that out or wait a couple yearss and try to get an in store credit card. The interest rate is higher but it would help you to rebuild. This is what I done.

Ya know?........I thought I would 'share this thought' with all of you. I was looking on the website, to the Horizon Gold Card, again. In the VERY 'FINE' PRINT, it DOES say that they will be "debited your account for $90.00, just for the Processing Fee." OMG!! Just the Processing Fee?! I'm glad I never 'signed-up' for this card.

SD chargers, You will see alot of this if you do not have good credit. They will put on these annual fees and processing fees. Always ask ahead of time if that fee is yearly. This is how my one debt got out of control. It was suppose to be a one time fee and ended up being an annual fee that threw the account over the credit limit. Being young it was really hard to come up with the payment. They are passing new laws that credit card companies are not going to be able to charge such steep fees and will have to give you 30 days before listing your account as late. Hopefully this will pass soon,.

Yeah... I'm probably gonna do a post that breaks down what each type of card is, and does, plus pros/cons of each... Then have links to the different pages for each... Is that gonna freak anyone out, since I own that site..?

For what it's worth, the actual url for the site is :

http://www.creditgecko.com

Any questions about anything related to that site, or about credit matters in-general, feel free to ask me personally!

I've trying to give the Horizon Gold Card the 'benefit of the doubt' ( lack of a better word, I suppose). Trying to look up anything I can, ob this card. What I HAVE found ( poor ratings, several compliants, etc.) was not impressive to me.

Try the above web site that Doc lists. How long ago did your credit start going bad? Are the marks on your report at least two years old? If so you should be able to get approved for some type of card.

I DO have some 'negative' things that are a few years old, or older. I've been reading MORE on this Applied Credit Card, that is stated on DOC's website. the more I look at it, the more I think it's 'for me'.

Hi Sdchargers
I would always suggest not to apply for a new credit card if you already have a low score because whenever you apply for a new line of credit, you automatically authorize your creditor or the credit card company to conduct hard inquiry in your credit report which lowers your credit score. You should instead use your existing credit cards to improve your credit history, which will help you to increase your score.

Thanks, CAROL. However,..right now I don't have any CC's ( Line of Credit) to improve my credit with. I DID have a 'bad credit' CC, a few years ago. The % rate just kept getting higher and I just struggling with it. I felt like I wasn't even making a 'dent' in the balance. Got to the point I couldn't keep up with it. The account was 'closed' by the company. Just trying to 'start over' in THAT aspect.

I heard on a news program that todays credit card companies wat to avoid selling debts to collectors so now if you call them they will do a debt settlement. It will show a red flag on your credit report but may save you from bankruptsy. If the original lender still has the card you could try this option. I replied to you earlier but it got deleted..not sure why since it had to do with your post..gave up trying to figure it out.

If you do not have a credit card to recover your credit, you should go for secured credit card which is backed by your own money and when you go for secured credit cards, there is no hard inquiry in your credit report. But unlike unsecured credit cards, secured cards has a annual charge which you need to pay. However, the interest rates are normally lower on secured credit cards as compared to unsecured cards.
