Security Breach

I got a letter in the mail about a security breach of some vendor that many, many people had used their mastercard at. I am not sure but have a pretty good idea which store it was, my husbands card is okay, but mine had to be replaced. Got it in the mail today.

Then just this week the local state university quit accepting VISA for any type of payments because of a breach, not sure if it was the same vendor or not. Apparently this is causing a lot of problems because a bunch of the students mac cards are issued through VISA, mine mac is a mastercard, it is the one that my bank replaced.

Has anyone else had this happen and do you know who the vendor is?

As far as I know, the TJX Companies has suffered a computer breach on that part of its network that deals with credit cards and debit cards and so the cards have been locked whose account information is expected to have been disclosed. The card holders will be issued a new card within a few days. These cards will be declined whenever you will attempt to make any purchases. You can only make purchases again on getting a new card.
