is it bad to pay utility and phone bills with a credit card? we pay off the full balance every month, but are trying to rack up the miles. just wondering if it looks bad or comes up on your credit report. thanks.

Hi rubadub,

No it is not bad. In fact, paying your utility and phone bills regularly through credit cards contribute in making a good credit score. You said that you are paying the bills regularly. Hence, that should establish a good payment history and reflect it that way in your credit report.

Actually using your card and paying it off each month is better for your score than just keeping a zero balance

Its not bad often Individuals with poor credit often find it difficult to get

This is a great way to build a good score. I use to work as a manager at a green house and they always paid with credit cards when paying any bill. They paid the bill off every month. They did this also for the free mile perks. It actually cut costs because they were always traveling to secure new orders.
