Can someone 'help me out/'? What experiences have 'you' had with this company ( if any)? I had them send me information on their program.

RCA is a financial service company which helps individuals to understand the credit industry and help them in rebuilding their credit score.

Thanks, JUSTIN. Have you used them for any reason? if you have, can you tell me good/bad experiences you've had with them?

I dont know about this company from personal experience but, I will say this:

Any company that claims that they will do anything for your for free, is lying. SO, if this or any company says that they and their X amount of employees are all volunteering their time to help you *and the bank is giving them a free building to work from and the phone comapny is donating phone service etc. etc* RUN AWAY!

Anywho, If the company is honest and says that they are going to charge you for their services AND has a written outline of services and some kind of guarentee on the results of their services......

Well, you need to look at your own situation and decide what would be best for you. Personally, I would rather do all of the research and then leg work on my own and keep my money. Then again, I don't value my time as much as some  lol

BTW, I looked at RCAs website and I did not get good vibes.... Also, I googled them and found most of the hits were from that rip off report site.... I didn't read them so I dont know how credible they are but, maybe you should.

Good luck!

Well.......I DID call them back and asked a few 'deeper' questions. The answers?....well, First of all: I din't get the answers I recieved in the BEGINNING of my conversasion with them. Second of all: I did a 'more in depth' search on them. Yep..you're right, lots of compliants. I did have to 'hand it to them' ( RCA). The complaints are 'well hidden'. FINALLY they did admit their would have to be a "small fee" to start processing. Imagine that!!

Best advise is to stay away from a place like this. Who needs a bigger headache?

I think that before going for any credit repair company, one must investigate about the company in complete details. One should have everything in writing about the fees and other charges. Even if you face a slight problem, don't go for it.

I'm trying to get my money back. Once you give them the money they don't even bother to talk to you...It's been over 3 months and I don't have any new accounts or my money back.

Hi RCA customer
If you have the signed agreements you had with RCA, and if you think that RCA has cheated, you can sue the company. You can also lodge a complaint against RCA to the FTC, bbb and the state's AGs office.

WOW! Thanks for posting this information. One of my general rules is to stay away from places that advertize 'free service'. They always seem to get in your pockets one way or another. I think that slogan is just a way to hook us in and then once you are dealing with them their companies true goal comes out. Almost like a psychological trick. After all, who doesn't want 'free' things?

True, we all like freebies, but as you say we must be careful to not get caught up in a scam, usually if it sounds toooooo good to be true, it is.

RCA has called and e-mailed me with this "wonderful offer." I can get some kind of discount if I sign up now. They say in their ads they don't ask for "upfront fees." But...they do. The more i talk to them, the less I am impressed.

Sat, 07/12/2008 - 04:42 Permalink

Once you contact them they will keep aggravating you. It doesn't sound like they are very impressive.

They called me, again, a few days ago. " Are you still interested?" they asked. I told them no. The female, I spoke to, actually got a bit irritated. By gosh...why?? If I'm no longer interested, so what?

Sun, 07/27/2008 - 01:55 Permalink

And the fact that they keep bothering you would make it even more less interesting. So what if she was irritated, now she knows how you feel.

Actually this is the reason why I feel that we should repair our own credit by ourselves. This saves us from the falling into the trap of such companies. At the same time we can save the money that we would have paid to the credit repair companies and use this money to pay our debt.

I agree Anthony. The only problem is we have people who don't quite understand how to start to do even the simplest things. I know I am no expert on the credit repair world and most likely wouldn't even begin to know where the starting point is. Someone had made a suggestikon on making a listing for this purpose and listing the link. I also am n ot a computer expert or I would have done this. Don't ya think it would be a pertty good thing?

I agree. Fixing your OWN credit is the best thing. When I got on this forum this AM, I saw an add on the top of the 'page'. It was a Tax Srvice that was advertising that they can "fix your credit." How can a TaxService do that? I thought all they dealt with was taxes? I see, more and more, now ALOT of companies ( not just 'credit repair ones..) that claim they can fix your credit.

Wed, 07/30/2008 - 09:32 Permalink

Unless it is tax debt I wonder if they can. Some of these businesses are expanding to include more in their services than just what their first intended purposes were. I think they may see that this is a booming business and want to cash in themselves. I really don't know how much these third party places can actually fix your credit. Most things I imagine would require some of your own leg work since they don't like to release info to third parties. If your gonna have to do some leg work, why not do it all and get the money in your pocket and the educational experience from it too?

the fact that she was upset should tell you that they had something to loose

Wed, 07/30/2008 - 20:03 Permalink

I agree with CMBV, she should not have been so upset if there was nothing to it.

Tue, 08/05/2008 - 00:04 Permalink

Alot of ads for "repairing your credit score." " Come to us..we're the best." That kind of stuff. I'm not saying some places haven't helped people, but, I talked to different Credit Repair Co., and as soon they find out I DON'T make a zillion dollars a year, they aren't willing to do much.

Tue, 08/05/2008 - 02:36 Permalink

I think that most of them are in it for the buck, if not it would all be a non profit agency. AND there are non profit agencies that do this type of work.

Tue, 08/05/2008 - 02:44 Permalink

Hi sdchargers
Before going for any credit repair services, you should go through their charges in complete details. These credit repair agencies may influence you with their words, but after making a payment you may find your credit report unchanged. So I think before going for any repair services, you should try and repair your credit by yourself. This may take some time, but by doing so you will reduce the risk of losing your money to these agencies.

This all boils down to the same thing. If there are nonprofit org. that will help a [person why pay all those fees to a agency instead pay them on your debts.
