that figures they always find a need for a new tax, but never a way to save on what they are already getting.

Thats what makes me so irate. They legalize gambling to give you some tax break I have yet to see and before you can even save a dime there they bring this about. So in the end you just keep paying. If you ever stop and figure out all the taxes and bills you must have to live (electric and such) and then look whats left over from your pay it is enuogh to make a person want to pitch a tent in the woods. What I love is when they tax stuff and then spenf=d the money on something that has nothing to do with the stuff itself.

oh I hear you, my hubby keeps saying if the democrats get in there, blah, blah, blah.

I am really tired of paying for everyone else to have a free ride, we need to get some of these young people off welfare and to work to help pay for some of their needs, that is where a lot of the tax money goes.

I totally agree with you Gn. What upset me the most lately is the idea they had for a second stimulus. Only giving to the people who make under 31000. In the form of gas stamps but we could use them too. One of our biggest needs is gas to get to work and to not include everyone who is definatelyt feeling the pain at the pump is ignorant on the goverments part.
Do you relize the people making under 31000 is already entitled to free fuel, medical and so much more. They have alot of help and we have none. I am not saying don't include them. I do think only those working should get it and not the ones who aren't emloyed. If they would do it this way then there would be enough money left over to include those of us making medium incomes.

I did not hear about this second package, did some googling and could only come up with the first package.

I am sure we will hear soon enough. It may have been forgotten because of having to bail out the rich people on wallstreet so they can continue to get their spa treatments.

Hi latonya
If you want to find out the creditors to whom you owe the debt, you need to pull out your credit report and find it out there. Now to check whether the creditors whose name is listed in your report is correct or not, you need to send Debt validation letters by certified mail to the CAs and the creditors whose name you find listed in your report. If they validate the debt within 30 days of receipt of your letter, you are responsible for the debt. However, if they do not validate the debt, you are no longer liable to them for the debt and you can send a dispute letter to the credit bureaus asking them to remove the listing.

Carol is right. Pulling out your credit report will only show the creditors to whom you owe the debt. But whether you actually owe the debt to the creditor whose name appears on your report can be judged by debt validation. If the creditors validate the debt then it means that you owe the debt and you can proceed forward towards repayment of the debt. But before you repay the debt, you may ask for a pay for deletion agreement so that as soon as you repay back the debt, the negative listing gets removed from your credit report.

And also check the states SOL. You have to be sure you are able to completely pay off the debt especially if it is out of statute because once you start paying you renew the SOL and can be legally forced to pay the debt. If you can pay the debt regardless of whether it is SOL proteceted you should do so and still get the PFD.

NCO sent me letters on an account that is years old. The account is on my CR, however, it 'falls off' soon. I think I'll leave it that way. Also.....NCO had sent me notices, or have called me about debts that I DON'T owe. I asked for proof of the debt. I never got one.

That rally is one of the wisest things to do SD. If you are protected by the SOL why open yourself up to the harrassmnet. If it is abput to fall off I usually would suggest just letting it alone but Iknow there are also many out there who would call this unfair. What is really unfair is the amount of money they ar allowed tol tack on these bills and the harrass, ment they are allowed to feed you along the way. Once you have SOL protection I think you shoulod just let it go.

If I start paying on these debts again. I would be 're-starting the SOL' again. It's been SOO crazy with me...life I mean ( alot going on..) that I haven't even tried to get my CR yet. However......I DO know some debts will falling off soon.
