Isn't it jsut sad that the people who are willing to work and can not always have to fight for everything? I knw I probaly will if I decide to do it. The doctors keep pushing the issue onme because they say no matter what this is going to get alot worse and I should get everything set up so It will be easier later. I am almost so tired of it all. I asked about what you were going to do. I believe you are entitled to these benefits

Wow! All of you have given me the most helpful information, when it comes to these Collection Agencies and such. I just checked my credit report to see what it looks like, and kind of wished I didnt now that I know the Collectors will know I've been checking it out. I feel as though having them hounding me is like a punishment for inquiring about my personal information. What do these people get out of informing the collectors? A raise? A bonus? A promotion? It seems as though they are working hand in hand...!! Thanks to you all I feel that I am no longer alone when it comes to Collectors and Debt!!

Thanks again guys!

Creditors pull out your credit report to check your personal information only to judge your creditworthiness which is reflected in your credit history. In your credit report personal information like your social security number or your credit card number is never mentioned. Only negative items such as public records and outstanding credit gets reported in your credit report. Moreover, accounts that are in good standing are also reflected in your report which helps you to improve your credit score.

I received a Summons for court 2/9/2009 from Legal Recovery Mark D. Walsh Lawyer San Diego-I am in Santa Rosa, Ca. Am trying to deal with this a little late but I do not have any money except a small SoSecurity monthly until I can get a parttime job. Anyway I do not know if this guy is legitimate in his summons.

You need to visit the court on the date mentioned on the summon else there can be a default judgment against you by the creditor. However, if you present yourself on the court date, there cannot be any judgment right now since you are on social security and social security cannot be garnished as per the Federal law. You need to just inform the court that you have no other source of income and you live on social security benefit.

NCOFIN shows on my credit as a credit inquiry in February, but I don't remember applying for credit anywhere at that time. Does anyone have any idea who they represent?

Hi Gmartin
It is not always necessary that you need to apply for a new line of credit for a hard inquiry to be conducted in your credit report. It may be that, the original creditor has sold the debt to NCO financial and the CA has reported the debt to the bureaus and so they have pulled out your credit report to check whether their name is listed in your report or not.

Hi Megan
Do you want to remove NCO financial from your credit report? If it it so, then you should send a debt validation letter and wait for them to validate the debt. If they cannot validate the debt, you should simply dispute the debt with the bureaus. The bureaus will get it verified from NCO and if found incorrect, remove it from your report. You can contact NCO financial at the following address:
8717 W 110th ST, Overland Park, KS 66210

If they call you,you tell them not to call and only contact u in writing
They can only send you one letter/if they call again you log the date and time and number that called you.
If they write again, threaten to take anything from you or put u in jail(crime) federal. They have no such right until they sue you in CIVIL court.
Civil court does not jail you
They are comitting a federal crime if they say any of this before they have filed a suit.
Keep everything you are sent and all calls logged and what was said.
You can then have an attorney file a federal suit. They will want to settle out of court because you will get more money if they do not. They will erase your debt to get out of the court thing. Check to see what the time limit is for them to file a civil suit against you in your state.
You file first so they won't.
DO NOT settle with them on the repayment in any form
They bought your debt for pennies on the dollar
You can force them to produce hard copies that you owe this debt
They won't have it
The bank who no longer will even talk to you does and they dont care anymore because it is not their problem.

Always write every 30 days to the Credit Bureaus and dispute the charge.
You have the right to ask the bureaus for hard copies that this debt is yours
They don't have it but they should if they are reporting it. They will have to remove this
You have rights so use them
