Can a collection agency report collection on a business credit card on my personal credit score? I have asked them to provide me with the appropriate documention and they refuse. what can I do? I dont belive this is my credit card.

If your business credit card is linked with your social security number, then the collection agency can report it to the bureaus of any debt arising out of the card. However, they need to provide you with valid proof that you owe them the debt. You can go for debt validation by sending them a DV letter by certified mail and they are required to validate the debt within 30 days from the date of receipt of the letter as per the rules of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

If you think that you do not owe the credit card debt, debt validation is the only instrument by which can remove the listing from your report. You should send DV letter only by certified mail with return receipt as a proof that you have asked for debt validation. The creditor or the CA must send you all documents like the copy of the original agreement and the the bills showing the details of the debts you owe. If they cannot provide you with these details, you can get the listing removed from your report by just sending a dispute letter to the bureaus.
