i just got off the phone with a CA about myself....when she pulled up my accts she gave me acct info and date of service on something of my husbands that i didnt ask for. didnt she break some type of law doing that.

Federally CA are not allowed to speak with third parties regarding collections unless the party they are speaking of has specifically given them permission to do so. Some states are more lenient than others regarding Husband and Wife situations others are extremely strict.

Hi courtney,

Welcome to this community :)

The collection agency is not supposed to give out information on somebody else's debt. However, I think this can depend on relations and the state laws. There are community property states where both the husband and wife are considered liable for debt incurred by one. So, can I know which state you are in?

Thanks,

Aaron
