Subject: Collections account removed by CRA; Can it be reported again

I had a dispute with a couple of collection accounts that were not mine. I disputed with Transunion and they deleted both accounts.

Can the collection agency re-report the same two accounts again with Transunion?

Nope if theose accoutn were removed by credit agency, they would have conducted a comeplte check to make sure that those did nto belong to you

There is not reason for them to put it back on your account

Also a good idea to call the collectio agency and exaplin them that these were alsready removed and shoudl not be reported again

Hi Redoctober,

Ideally, once an account listing is removed by CRA after dispute, it should not come back on the report. They have already verified the listing and have found it inaccurate. That is why they have removed it. There is no point in listing it once again. However, it is advisable to call the CA and talk to them regarding the matter. You must tell them that the CRA had already removed it since the information on the listing was inadequate.

Here I would like to ask you one thing. Have you checked your credit report and found something like this?

I had a friend that disputed with the CRA's once and they deleted. But a few weeks later the same account from the same CA had been put back on. That is what made me question their ability to place things back on credit reports once it had been deleted.

I will now contact the CA and tell them the account was deleted by the CRA.

Hi redoctober,

Once, the listing has been removed by the CRA followed by a dispute, it should figure on the credit report. However, if the CA still reports it to the CRA, then I think a debt validation letter should be sent to the CA. You can also call and talk to them regarding the matter. I don't think the CA will be able to validate the debt. If it still persists, then file a complaint against the CA with the FTC and the State Attorney General.
