On My credit report I have some collections that I have settled and paid them. The problem is the orignal creditor is still on the credit report even though, I have paid there collection agency. Should I write the orginal creditor to let them know I paid it?

If your debt has been sold off by the OC to a collection agency, and the collection agency has not listed its name against the debt, then the CA listing will not show on your credit report, but the OC listing will stay there for seven years and it cannot be removed before this period. However, since you have already paid off the debt to the CA, you can ask the bureaus to change the status of the listing to "paid" in your report.

Yes, if you pay off the debt, the credit report should show the status of the debt as "paid". If it does not show as "paid" in your report, you can dispute the listing with the bureaus and change it. However, you cannot remove the charge off listing completely from your credit report before seven years and six months from the date of your last missed payment.
