Subject: Is Lexingotn Law Firm a good choice for help?

I saw one post on this site saying Lexington Law Firm was the worst for help with credit issues. I am wondering what others think about them. I have a 7 plus year old bankruptcy and a disputed tax lien I need removed form my credit so I can get credit cards and auto loan to rebuild credit. Any feedback or suggestions of other sources of help would be appreciated.

Thank You,

Thomas

I guess it depends on what Bankruptcy you filed if it was a 13 you can have that removed on you own. You can dispute it with the CA and sent copies of your discharge papers. If it's a chapter 7 you or any attorney cannot remove that it stays for 10 years. As far as the tax lien I'm not sure. You can get a secured credit and make your payments on time and only use 35% of the limit and start rebuilding your credit that way.

Hi Thomas,

7 years is the stipulated time period for the negative items to fall off. However, a bankruptcy can stay on your report for 10 years depending on the type of bankruptcy you have filed. A chapter 7 bankruptcy stays on your report for 10 years, while chapter 13 bankruptcy stays on your report for 7 years. For the tax lien, it should fall off after 7 years. I think you can send a dispute letter to the credit bureau pointing the same. I have not worked with the Lexington Law Firm personally but can see that they have an A- rating by the BBB.
