Get this....
I have a charge off for an auto loan from Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. They are using Syncom to collect the payments. The balance is $8777. I have been trying to negotiate with Syncom to settle this account, but they have refused my offers. They have given me reason such as: Nissan will not accept it. I offered them $2500. They counter offered $4500. I have contacted Nissan on several occasin to verify the refused offers. Nissan informed me that the negotiation is totally up to Syncom, and they are fine with whatever the negotiated amount is. So in other words, Syncom is trying to get the most money from me for themselves. To my understanding, Nissan has sold the account to Syncom
What should I do? I want to settle it, but don't feel I should pay Syncom a large amount of money, since Nissan has sold it to them. |

Hi Nicole,
You are right. Nissan has sold the account to Synergetic Inc. for collecting the debt. Why don’t you get something in writing from Nissan that they do not have a problem with the settlement amount you are offering? This might help. Otherwise, I am afraid there is not much you can do. To accept the settlement amount or not to accept is in the hands of the collection agency only. But keep the settlement offer letter with you so that if they sue you afterwards in court, you will be able to show the judge that you wished to settle the amount and that you had also made efforts in that direction. _________________ All the Best
