I have tried everything in the books to get them to stop and so far NOTHING has worked. I have also called them and told them that the person they are trying to reach does NOT live here and this is a wrong number, and please stop calling here, take my number off the list...NOTHING. I was a nice as I could be because I don't like yelling at people or being rude. I don't know what else to do.

You need to determine who is calling you and why. If you are called by person (not a computer), and you are willing to answer the phone, then take notes. Write down the name of the agent, collection's agency and the debt they are calling about. You need to the original creditor and account number to identify the specific debt they are calling about. Get a mailing address for the collection agency. Of course if you have a caller id, you can look at the name that comes up, but many CA's hides this. If the calls are Robocalls, then write down the number; go to a site called http://whocalled.us/. This is a community database that collects information about unavailable callers. They will likely have your caller, and you can feel good about helping to track down sneaky "unavailable" callers. If there is nothing there than Google the number. If that does not work, you are stuck with calling the creeps, and getting the information out of them.
#
Step 2

Next, you need to decide what this call has to do with you. Many times these agencies are calling the wrong person. If this is the case then you write a Full Cease and Desist Letter. This letter instructs the caller to never call again. It would help to point that they are calling wrong people. Send this letter by USPS certified mail with return receipt requested. This will cost about $5. I will explain the cost in a minute.
#
Step 3

If the collection agency is trying to reach you, then you will want to write a different letter. It is called a limited Cease and Desist letter. This letter will instruct the collection agency to contact you in writing only. It is better to allow them to write you so that you can continue to negotiate and/or dispute the debt. You must send this letter by Certified Mail with Return Receipt Requested. It is important because you need proof that they receive your letter.
#
Step 4

If they call again after you receive the green return receipt, then use Call Trace. This is service provided by regular and cell phone companies. This does cost money, but now you will sue them. Send a letter of demand asking for costs and $1000. I have pasted part of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act that states how much you can sue for. Don't forget to add in court costs.
"(A). Civil liability can be imposed in these forms:
(1) Actual damages,
(2) Discretionary penalties, and
(3) Costs and attorney's fees;
Except as otherwise provided by this section, any debt collector who fails to comply with any provision of this title with respect to any person is liable to such person in an amount equal to the sum of:

A. Any actual damage sustained by such person as a result of such failure;

(1) In the case of any action by an individual, such additional damages as the court may allow, but not exceeding $1,000;..."

After 7 individual people at CCS company told me they would stop calling and never did, now I call back every time and give them an earful of profanity. That's right. Stop lying to me, CCS, follow through with what you say, and you have nothing to worry about. You want to keep calling me with your $&*&% computer and wasting my time? Then thank your fellow morons who work with you when you get my return calls. It is my mission to ruin your day until one of you idiots follows through and deletes my number. I don't have an account with you, I don't owe you people anything. You decided to start calling me and ignored me when I nicely asked you to stop. You have no one to blame but yourselves for the profanity I will spew at you.

Hey Art - No offense, but you bought their crap hook, line, and sinker. These people RELY on you believing you are talking to innocent people. They create the ILLUSION that they want to help you, and that they have no control over their automatic computer. Wake up! They designed the system! They WANT to harass you. They DO NOT want to help anyone but themselves! Don't play their game. Watch the language they use. "Your account..." You don't have an account with them. It's THEIR account! You have no responsibility whatsoever to be polite or nice when strangers call you to trick you into giving them money.

If the calls you received from CCS were on your cellular/mobile phone and it was regarding debt belonging to someone else, please called the The Mathews Law Group (formerly The Law Office of Charles T. Mathews) at 626-683-8291. We are currently fighting a consumer rights case against CCS to stop this type of collection practice. We can assist you as well. There is no obligation or cost on your part.

Subject: First Call Was Arrogant

Today I received the very first call from these people, a recording stating "We have left numerous messages and if we don't hear from you by tomorrow 10:00 a.m. there will be no further need for you to call"

How arrogant. I owe no debts and I've never heard from these people prior to today. I plan on doing nothing. Hopefully they just called the wrong number but how rude is that? Not even a live person and to threaten "there will be no further need for you to call"?
