I have a collection agency account listed for $15 from january of 07. There was a number listed, but it was busy when I called. No voicemail or anything. What should I do if anything. ALSO, I just now got a letter from an EMS company for an ambulance ride from april of 07. Just found it tonight, my family often gets the mail and throws it in a bin and I never say it until tonight. Why did I never get a bill, and why wasn't my insurance billed? What should I do?

Since the collection account is of $15 only, I suggest you to send them a DV letter and pay it off. You can request for a pay for deletion to the CA, but even if they do not agree for PFD, it is better to pay off this small amount since a paid listing is always better than a listing which is not paid. As far as your insurance issue is concerned, i think you send your insurance details to the EMS company under certified mail.

Hi Jessie
You did not tell how much the EMS company charged you for the ambulance. If it is a small amount it is always better to pay it off, before they report your dues to the credit reporting agencies. However if it is a big amount, you can send your insurance papers to the EMS company from which they can claim the money. But make all communications under certified post to keep a record that you have sent them the papers. As far as your listing in your credit report goes, I would also suggest you to pay it off, since it is a very small amount.

I would pay it off since it is a small amount, if not, it will linger on your credit report for a long time. It is not worth the pain and agony of trying to get it off there once it is reported.
