is there any way to get lates removed from your credit bureau. they are morgatge loans up to about 4 years ago. both a current loan and a paid loan. also anyway to delete. paid charge off. credit card account

Jerry,

Welcome to the forums, I am afraid that the answer is no, they will stay on there, the only thing you can do now is keep making your payments on time, this will establish a good payment history and therefore raise your score.

I agree with you erb. Even if a charge off is paid, it will be listed in your credit report for seven years as paid charge off. There is no way to get a charge off listing removed from your credit report. Charge off lowers your credit score by as much as 100 points. All that you can do is to ask your creditor to change the status of your listing from "paid charge off" to "paid as agreed" after you pay off the debt. "Paid as agreed" listing will not affect your credit score so much any other listing does.

But does it raise it any? I would think that it would or at least not let it lower it anymore? I am not real sure on this. Does anyone happen to know?

Hi erb
If you pay off your debt, and the status in your credit report changes from "charge off" to "paid charge off" it will not increase your credit score. For increasing your credit score after it has fallen due to charge off listing, you need to make your creditor agree to change the status of charge off to "paid as agreed" status in your credit report.

Then I guess I will have to wait on them to fall off, will I see a fast move to improve my score???? How soon will I know the resurlts?

Wow I always thought it would at least bring your score up a little since the debt was paid. You think they would have some added incentives for people who are intent on clearing up their credit record.

I know it is really really tough when you are trying to recover from debt, especially if there are charge offs and delinquencies involved. I struggled with this for the last few years and continue with it today.

I paid off all my past due accounts, however they still reflect negatively on my credit report, they will fall off around 2011.

I am trying like heck to stay current to establish a good credit history and payment history so when those negatives do fall off my credit score should rise significally so I think.

Gn you really have put your best foot forward and I know the reward seem to be a long time in the coming but it will get here eventually. I know you wished you had been able to have the knowledge in thebeginning about PFD but let the past be the past and the futrure will take care of itself.

Charge off is such a type of negative listing that generally does not go off from your credit report even if you pay off the debt in full. So it is always essential to prevent charge off. For this, whenever you find that you are falling behind your loan repayments due to some financial drawback, contact your creditor immediately and explain him of the situation so that he does not charge off your account.

Do they erally work with you Anthony. I never had really good help back when I aquired my debts. They had always wanted payments I couldn't afford due to my hubby passing. I was in financial distress and they just wouldn't work with me. thats been years ago. I sure hope they have made some moves to help people wjo fall on bad times.

Right, these take seven years to fall off your report, believe me it seems like forever.

That fact right there is what would hold me back from paying. What if something unknown happens and I get behind again. They weren't willing to work out a deal the first time.

They get a little hairy when you don't hold up your end of the bargain, some can get down right nasty.

I have heard this from a lot of posters. thats why I am thinking it is best to leave the debt go since I have SOL protection. That and the fact of how little the original debt actually was and how astronomical it is now.

Thats the plan. I know what a nightmare these things can become and I have no energy to deal with the crap. Life is a liitle stir crazy at the moment anyway. Why add anything else to the blender?
