I work with Renee baker and i told her about this program. they best thing about it is that you are in control of making the settlement decisions and how quickly you finish the program. I plan on putting my tax return in so I can build more money for settling... They don't charge you if you want to prepay and the faster i get out, the faster i can work on my credit to buy my first home!!!! YEY!!!

I have been with the J Hass Group for over a year now. Two of my three credt cards have been settled for less than the 40% they quoted me! I signed up to be in for 3 years and it looks like I will be finished within the next few months.

having been in a debt settlement program I continue to read alot about it. Seems to me that most programs are 2 years or more and I see people getting up set that nothing was settled in 4 or 5 months. Some how these people do not understand that you need time to sweet the creditors so that they do negotiate and enough time to save money to pay them. I am a happy graduate and I can tell you that it is not an easy program. But being debt free is a great finish

I have not had a bad experiance with the J hass group but it has not been all great. I have been a client for going on 2 years. the calls have now stopped however when i was recieving calls everyday i was not able to get ahold of customer service everytime i needed them. the have settled out 2 of my 5 accounts so that part im happy with. However i did get sued on one of the my other cards. The sales rep when he sold me this dream did not tell me that i could get sued. I knew thing like my credit taking a hit and the phone calls but not that i could get sued. My negotiator that i have been working with on the lawsuit has been ok, however it doesnt seem like they are going to be able get me a really good settlement on that account. I just wish someone would have told me that up front. I got a 22% settlement on one of my cards and my negotiator is telling me i might not get anything better than 70% on this card. It is just disapponting that i was not told this upfront. I will say one thing for J Hass, their Custoemr service has improved over the years and my calls are answered almost immediatly when i call. I also like that i have been recieving this auto message where i can press 1 to speak to a someone, i like that because it lets me know they are still around, and being able to press 1 and get connected is a nice feature. The only other bad thing that has happend is that i asked that my payment be moved to a different day since my paycheck changed, i gave them a weeks notice and the payment still came out on the original day. that was really frustrating because it overdrafted my account, and i bounced 2 checks which is really embarasing. they did help me with that, they refunded my payment, payed for my bank fees and were able to change the draft date in the end. I just wish they woudl have doen what is asked, but iguess they made up for it in the end.

Yes, debt settlement does not mean that your credit score will necessarily improve after you pay it off. It only assures that you will not be sued to the court and and your wages will not be garnished as a result of judgment if you pay off the debt as agreed between you and the creditor. Under debt settlement program you need to pay back 40 to 50% of the outstanding debt within a 2 to 3 year period. However, you should always go for settlement companies with IAPDA certification.

Carol makes the statement that they do credit repair. I have been in their program. THEY DO NOT DO CREDIT REPAIR--in fact credit repair is almost always phony. Unless a mistake has been made-that needs to be corrected-there is nothing else that can be done

I joined a debt settlement program about one year ago. It has been a very frustrating experience however I have had several settlements that now add up to over $7,000.00 of savings. Each time I go angry about something this company explained it to me and referred me to the paper work and monthly newletters to better my understanding. Indeed I found the reason for my anger--in fact they were clearly stated in the contract I signed and the disclosure I signed. I guess I should have read all the information they supplied to me in the beginning. So if you want a settlement company that puts it all in writing up front I can recommend the JHass Group

I have investigated numerous credit counciling and consolidation companies. My findings are that most take 3 to 7 years to become debt free. Many will say they are non-profit and only charge a small monthly fee. Right some stranger out of the goodness of their is going to work for me for no profit! Here is the scoop. Most are supported by your creditors. Most receive a commission on what you pay in addition to your monthly fee. All damage your credit for 7 to 10 years and most people who use their services don't become debt free. The scam is not debt settlement but rather debt counciling and consolidation.

I am in the process of signing wiht J Hass but no one will tell me if there is 1099 at the end o fthe year fo rthe forgiven debt. If you get 50k forgiven you'll pay 15k in taxes if they 1099 you. so you really dont save what you think..any input???

you dont want to use J HASS GROUP 800-565-1260 because they dont care about your credit. If you are trying to work with tme via you Creditcard debt, the banks wont take them. There is a differenece between debt settlement and debt managment. Settlement will let your card go to 6mnths past due and have you card written off as a bad debt which will affect everything to do with your credit. then they will try to settle with the company that its with ( usually a collection agency due to the bank selling your account to them) say if you settle on a 20k debt for 5k then you will have to fill out a 1099 and claim the 15k as income and you will be taxed by the gov'mnt. So its better to go managment cmpny then settelement

Yes, if the amount forgiven by the creditor exceeds $600, you need to pay tax on the amount that exceeds $600 because it is considered a part of your income. When the creditor sends you 1099 C, it means that they have reported the amount forgiven as a loss to the IRS and since you have not repaid it, it forms a part of your income and so you need to pay tax. Now, on $50K, you pay only $15K as tax which means that you save $35K, which is a good savings I think. _________________ Keep in touch

I have my credit card debt and medical bills with them I am happy with their performance. They tell you up front what the fees are, they cant do it for free!!! They build up your funds in an escrow account in your name(safer this way, they are not taking your settlement money like other companies)They are a member in good standing with TASC. and BBB. Sure debt collectors will call, that is their job, but now they have a magical way to divert those calls right to J Hass! You don't ever have to talk to those annoying, mean horrible people again!!! HAHA you just press a button. I signed up with Karen C. she was very patient, informative and no pressure. Here is the number where you find out all the info and sign up. 1-888-394-2604 x 108, ask for Karen C. you will be glad you did! I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, I can sleep now!!! I did my research first, and I am glad I did.

I have my credit card debt with the J Hass group and so far I am happy with the program. I recently paid a large up front fee for their "Save My Home" Principal Reduction Program to reduce the amount owed on my home since I am up-side-down along with most homeowners these days. I would greatly appreciatiate any feedback about this program. Thanks!
