| I just fired them I got a paper from a law firm from one of my creditors and I thought I should call the firm that is threating to sue me to make sure that the hass group got a hold of them cause they claim they are going to deal with everything for you well to my suprise the hass group had not got a hold of them and mind you I only had 30 days to get back with them till they took me to court so when I fund out they had not talked to this law firm yet I called he hass group and they told me that I might have to go o court but I can take my paper work with me to show the judge that I am with the hass group and that they are taking care of my bills for me lol I asked them what paper work that might be I beleive they are scamming people they even tryed to tell me that this law firm that told me they had not been contacted by the hass group was lying that they had been contacted and they was just lying to me to get some money from me but when I told them I spoke with a lawyer freind and he told me an attorney can not lye like that or you can get out of paying the debt completely they started singing a different tune they are just making things worse for you call your creditors and ask for the hardship program and they will work with you to get there money I just learned that the hard way after hass group ripped me of a few hundred dollars and this dann machine they offer you is a joke I was with this company since jan of this year they never did anything fir me except take my money DO NOT GO TO A SETTLEMENT COMPANY all they do is take the first 4 months of payments and put it in there pocket and then they take your money and put it in a savings account and keep the interest off it and when you get enough cash built up to pay one of your creditors they negotiate the price down to the same price that you could get yourself and pay it just to pay off 10.000.00 it was going to take around 4 to 5 years and this hole time your credit is going down worst and worst they do not do anything except enjoy your money trust me they are no good and they are going to try to intemidate you but just say you are fired and call your bank right away to block them from taking any more of your money it might cost you 30.00 but that is less than what they are going to try to get out of you real quick. may god bless you and help to keep you calm threw it all I know you are going to need alhe prayers you can get |

Anyone considering JHASS Group should reconsider. I was in the program for 9 months. Sued by to creditor's and JHass did nothing. Their negotiation skills are no better than mine. The only thing they successfully negotiated was me out of my money. I can not believe I fell for their scam. Yes it takes the first 2-3 months to pay for set up fees and pay for supposed power of attorney documents they claim to send out (my creditor's never received anything, not even a phone call). My creditor's even tried to call them and got no response. In addition they continue to apply the greater portion of your monthly payment toward set up fees, and will not release those fees even if you are being threatened by a law suit. When you cancel out of the program, because of obvious reasons they do not even adhere to the TASC guideline of; Cancellation policy: In the instances where the client is meeting his/her program objectives, and cancels prior to successful completion of the program, the provider should, upon request of the client and unless required otherwise by state law, refund no less than 50% of any collected fees, excluding set up or retainer fees, fees earned on any accounts settled at the time of cancellation of the agreement and/or fees associated with any accounts that have valid settlement offers from creditors.
Take my advice, you will have better luck negotiating on your own behalf. You will save yourself a lot of money and hard ache in the end. |

Hi Helene,
I understand you have been through a tough time dealing with JHass Group. I agree with you that it is always better to negotiate with the creditors on your own, instead of going to a debt consolidation company. It only requires a bit of time and awareness about the credit industry. But it saves a lot of bucks, which you can utilize to pay off your debts. So, I feel it is worth the effort. _________________ Looking forward to a debt-free life. |

Hi Alisa,
I have not dealt with J Hass Group personally. But Liz and Helene say they had trouble working with them. Even I feel you can do on your own, what a debt settlement company does, for a fee. Are you trying to repair your credit?
If you are looking out for the best debt settlement companies, you can take the following measures:
1) Check the company profile on the company website.
2) Get details about the cost involved in settling your debt, including their fees
3) Get everything in writing before you start working with a debt settlement company.
4) Ask them to give an estimate of the time require to settle your debts.
5) You must also inquire about there past successes in settling debts. _________________ Looking forward to a debt-free life. |

I have read with interest your messages and can't help but wonder why anyone with debt problems would pay out more hard earned money to a debt settlement company. There are free credit counseling services all over the country that will work with your creditors at no cost to you.
While most of you have not disclosed your total amount of your debt, it seems as though all of you are looking to simply have your debt negotiated down and settled for less than what was borrowed.
I realize that many credit card companies gouge consumers with outrageous finance charges and create a cycle of debt that is hard to climb out of. I also realize that you bought something or a lot of somethings to get yourself into debt in the first place. You cannot blame the credit card companies for that.
Sometines things happen that are beyond our control like health issues or the furnace needs replaced or you lose your job. But none of you have mentioned liquidating assets or reselling the things you bought to help pay down the debt. It's like you've made yourself the victim. You want to keep the things but not pay for them. Hmmm |

| Was with J Hass Group since February 2009 and and found out none of my creditors were ever contacted by J Hass Group, not even once! I was always able to get through to someone by dialing 800-565-1260 then select option 1 and 0 for customer service. They faxed the Power of Attorney to all the creditors I was told but they never called. And I was very careful to forward every piece of correspondence to J Hass Group and follow up with them frequently. They keep saying my accounts need to age and get passed down to 3rd party collection agencies before they can start the negoitation process. Well guess what? I got a call from a a law office (Hunt & Henriques) for my Citibank account saying I can either pay the settlement amount or they will file lawsuit. They said J Hass Group never contacted them so they tried to call them and gave them their settlement offer they refused and never contacted me to let me know. I've paid J Hass Group about $2000 but it all went to their fees and my creditors were never contacted and now I'm screwed. I have since taken my accounts back and trying to work with my creditors directly so that I am in the loop. It may take me years to pay but at least I'm not getting sued and harrassed and I know my accounts are being dealt with. Sure the Power of Attorney they sent my creditors stopped the phone calls but that's what J Hass Group wants...the creditors to stop contacting you so you don't know that they are not doing what they are suppose to do with your accounts until it's too late because the next thing you know you are being sued and they are telling you they are not attorneys so they can't represent you and will not represent you. The rep I spoke to told me to let them file lawsuit and they will negoitiate before it goes to court and there's not garuanteed because if they are unsuccessful you'd be in worse position because you will now owe your original debt, plus court and attorney fees AND now they've got a judgment against you so they can put a lien against your property and garnish 25% of your paycheck. Easy for them to tell you to relax and trust them...fool me once shame on me but fool me twice? I think not!! Bank your money and do your own negoitiation, you will be better off. They are no better negotiating then you are. This company is taking advantage of people who are financially crippled giving them false hopes with their empty promises. What goes around comes around. Karma baby, believe that! |
