I really don't know anything about them, have you check them out on the better business bureau website or some of the other consumer reporting sites?

J hass group is a debt settlement company which promises to lower your debt by 50 to 60%. They negotiate with your creditors for a reduction of your debt and even organizes a repayment plan which you can afford to pay. They provide you free consultation, then they format a debt settlement plan and finally negotiates with the creditors and make them agree to settle for less. They also help you out if you are about to file a bankruptcy. But I am not sure about the quality of the services they offer.

I just went thru a settlement program and had great results. I didn't look into the J HAss group, however I did look at Freedom Debt Relief, RAM Financial Services and Clear Choice. I ended up going with RAM, they were surprisingly very straightforward with me.

Good luck to you!!

I've been with them 3 months, and they have contacted my creditors. They have also contacted one of them re: small claims court. You need to keep calling during business hours, and ask to be transferred to negotiations. Then you get someone that will help. The number above is the one to call. They seem pretty up front.

Many debt consolidation companies tend to let your bills go without payment for about three months before they do much of anything... The money you pay them in those first few months goes toward commissions and fees...

That said, I don't know much about these guys, specifically...

doesn't that just make your situation alot worse? I understand that they need there fees and commisions but if something is really behind and they were threatening to sue how does putting off payment help the debtor. Do they tell you this up front? If I were going to deal with any debt repeir place I would ask how they go about handling these things. Maybe even save for the up front fees before signing on with one. Sometimes if you are not that far in debt wiht too many places a call to the collector asking for a debt settlement may work. I have a sister who handled a few on her own and got her own debts settled for almost half the asking amount. Its worth a try before handing it off for someone else to handle. If you can not egt anywhere and were planning on going through a debt settlement company then you didn't lose anything anyway. The last debt she settled they settled at 50%..only $100 more than when she first defaulted on the bill.

Pick your poison....creditors calling everyone you know or working with a debt management program. I have had no problems reaching J Haas on the number I was provided for customer service 800 565 1260. It does take time 2-3 months to cover the upfront fees and I am constantly telling two primary collection companies that they need to call J Haas who is representing me in this matter....that's all I say...period. When they ask about a proposal being offered I again say call J Haas who is handling this business matter on my behalf. Anyone considering J Haas shouldn't worry----they are run by attorneys and have a very strong track record from the research I did on them before signing up.

I feel that you should go for debt settlement companies only if you are unable to manage your debt. The most important task of the debt settlement companies is to negotiate with your creditors for a discount on the outstanding debts and make them agree for a repayment plan which you can afford to repay from your monthly income. However, if you can manage the debts by yourself and come to repayment agreement with the creditors after having a discount on the outstanding debts you can save money which you have otherwise paid them for debt settlement.

I myself would try a nonprofit organization. There are soem warning sign on whether you are getting a good debt settlement company or not. Some include: Do they charge a hefty or hidden fee? I would consider this anything over $50 a month. You should avoid signing up for anything over the phone. See if theuir agents work on a commission basis. This meaning the more debt they collect they higher their pay. Watch for the ones who tell you to quit paying your creditors..this could make your situation even worse. There was a site I read in a good creditable magazine..I think it was www.debtadvice.org. I went here and they gave some really goo tips.

i work for a debt settlement company; not the j hass group. the first 3-4 months of payments will go towards our fee. right off the bat, we'll send a notice to ALL creditors notifying them the consumer has entered our program. is this going to stop the calls? not most of them. the credit card companies will do and say to get you to pay them the money that is owed. our debt settlement program is NOT for everyone. it is ideal for the person that doesnt see an end in sight, that is in that endless cycle of ony making the minimum payment and nothing esle; if you can afford monies for your payments, that is not coming into any money to pay down or off what you owe, that needs relief with their current monthly obligations... this program is not an easy one. but if you stick with the program, keep making your payments, depending on how long the program is... in time you'll see how each creditor gets settled. once you have finished the program, you're debt free. now if you dont redo what got you in the mess in the first place... you'll be on track on rebuilding your credit!!! its not easy but definitely doable!!!!!

Yes, bring back your credit to normal course is not an easy task and requires patience. The debt consolidation companies generally allocates your income efficiently so that you can pay off the outstanding debts and at the same time maintain your essential monthly expenses and cutting down unnecessary expenditures. Normally if you sign up for a debt management program, you can repay back the debt within a period of 3 to 4 years depending on the outstanding debt amount.
