Subject: Multiple Postings on Credit Report

Hello, I have a question. I am just now cleaning up my credit and saw my report for the first time. There are two listings from Bank of America, with two different account numbers. Then there is a third one from a creditor which says that the original debt came from Bank of America. I have only had one B of A card ever, and it seems to me that the amount from the creditor is the amount of the first two B of A accounts combined. Do I send a validation letter to all three? And can a creditor be on my report when the original debt is there as well? Sorry for all the questions, I am very new to this. Thanks!

Yes, send a DV letter to all 3 CA who are listing on your CR. Yes, you can have multiple OC and CAs on your CR for the same debt. I found during my credit repait that when you send the DV letters to all of the CAs that listed on your CR. The ones that no longer own the debt just have their mark erased. I guess it's easier for them to remove it then to try and validate it.

I too think that you should send Debt validation letters to all the CAs.
