Do you have to send DV if the SOL is up? Do i still have to go throught the validation process first then send the CB the copies... or can i just ask the CB to remove since its past the SOL?

Statute of limitations is only the timeframe in which they can sue, it will still stay on your credit report for seven years since last activity.

Hi Justjade
If the Statute of Limitation on the debt has expired, it means that you are no longer legally responsible for the debt, but it does not mean that the item would be removed from your credit report. Even if you dispute the debt with the bureaus, it will not be removed from your report before seven years. If you are sure that the SOL on the debt has expired, you need not send a debt validation letter to the creditor.
