An alleged debt ( I was charged for damages which did not occur to a leased vehicle) I had disputed with the CA with a certified dispute letter to which they never responded and has now shown up as a charge off with Nissan credit. I discovered this due to my bank cancelling my credit card account without notice I have been disputing the amount for 8 months and have not received any proof, other than a bill for damages, of the alleged damage (there was none). Whom should I contact?

Hi phil,

Have you asked the CA to validate the debt? Well, I would suggest that you check your report and see what is stated in your report and then dispute the debt with the CRAs. If the CA is not responding, it is truly a violation. Dispute the debt with the CRAs and let them take over now.

Hi Carol,

Yes, I did ask the CA to validate the debt. They did not respond. Initially, they sent a copy of the bill I received from Infiniti originally, with the erroneous charges. I sent them a letter asking to validate the charges.
