I received a summons to appear in small claims court. I do owe the debt--that I agree with. I knew I would be receiving it. Health situations and being self employed put me in a financial challenge.
My question is: My daughters name is on this too. She was on the lease but moved out before this debt occured. How can I get her name off of this?

I am not sure that you can have it removed, I am thinking that they will tell you that you should have had her name removed from the lease once she vacated. I think that you will have a hard time with this one.
I agree. She should have signed off the lease when moving out but still you should ask. Let them know you agree with this debt and will pay it but could they remove your daughters name since she was not the one who did not pay. The worse thing they can tell you is no so I see no problem in asking. Good luck.

When my daughter left we were on a month to month. The lease was only good for a year and we lived there for 3 1/2 years.
Does that make a difference?
