So I had a DC that had been trying to collect 50.00 for a hosp bill from 6 years ago. When i started my credit repair and I saw the listing I was shocked since I have had health insurance everyday of my life. So, i called my insurance company who called the local hosp and fixed the issues with them. SO, I figured, cool. Done. Next.

Wrong.

The DC refused to remove the listing off my CR! So, I sent them a DV letter and a copy of my proof. They basically send me the same hospital bill back but they wrote in 25.00 BY HAND in the 'due from PT' area. I laugh to myself and figure who can be this dumb and send my proof to the 3 CRAs. TUC and EQu delete it b/c it is obvioulsy fraudulent. Exp VALIDATES IT! I call them and ask them how they possibly think this account is validated! I have a letter from the OC saying that it was wrong! Would you believe they told me that the CA has to remove the listing. That my proof is worthless unless they agree I am right? I asked the lady 'what CA will admit to lying! WHy would they admit to altering documents?

So, now I am dealing with the FTC and local AG to fix this mess...... Any suggestions?

Wow C this is a mess. I see your post is dated June 24. Have you got any results? What is really stumping me is how if you can prove the debt is false and the hosp. stands behind you how then is it up to the CA to remove something from your report? This is mad.

I did get it removed FINALLY bascially, I took the info from the hosp, insurance comany and the CA and went to the local court and filed a small claims suit for 1000. I provided my proof that it was paid and they were violating my rights. I had a letter in my mailbox the day after they got the court papers *oddly enough my letter didnt have any postmarks on it, like THEY delivered it* not only saying that they removed the mark from my CR but offering to pay my filing costs lol

Way to go!!! Can you still sue them for the money? Probaly just a relief to have it off huh? I would get back my filing fees even if they weren't much. It was money you shouldn't have had to spend not counting time you used of your own to do it.

great news, I know that it is has been hard work, but it is worth it in the end. Are you going to follow through with the lawsuit, since they gave you such a hard time, if I were you, I would follow through.

I was thinking the same thing. A little victory for the little person.
