Used to be MBNA now Bank of America just because you don't immediately recognize it don't mean it's not yours:) Just do a little research first. And of course mistakes do happen you can always try disputing.

I dont think you can say that they hate poor and disabled people. Yes something has gone wrong with your account. Why dont you talk to them and sort it out? It is very very important to have a free talk to the organizations that you are dealing with.
Dont loose your hope so soon.

Subject: FIA VS. SUNTRUST

Laura, you are correct in some part of what you are saying. The reason I know is because I work for a credit card company who services the new Suntrust cards. FIA is Bank of America. It is the merger between MBNA and Bank of America because they bought all of MBNA account portfolio. If you go to MBNA.com you will see. Now, how Suntrust is involved is because MBNA bought the old Suntrust cards which were visa and mastercards. BOA bought MBNA and here you have it!
Now. Suntrust decided to get back into the credit card business and are now offering Visa credit cards. The new Visa credit cards are Suntrust cards and don't have anything to do with FIA. Suntrust are trying to win back their old cards from Bank of America thru balance transfers.
So if you see anything on your credit report, it is BANK OF AMERICA. FIA= credit card division for Bank of America and BANK OF AMERICA= banking aspect (ie. checking, savings, money market, etc.)

If you ever want to know who actually owns the card that you have...go to their website and look at the terms and conditions and down at the bottom it will say something like "this card is issues by FIA" (for example). Usually that will show at the very bottom.

David,

FIA= Bank of America
CSNA= Card Services N. A. (National)

FIA (Bank of America bought MBNA)
So if you have a former MBNA account this could be Bank of America doing an inquiry on you OR if you have an old Suntrust credit card this could be again Bank of America doing an inquiry. It could be either account. I also found out that FIA (Bank of America) owns the Regions Bank cards. IBSNETACCESS.COM is another one of Bank of America's websites. Call that number listed (1.800.655.1491). They are open 24 hrs a day and ask them ?'s.

I, as Stuified, also received a direct deposit from FIA CSNA last night. I have been on the phone all morning trying to figure out how to give this money back and my bank BofA does not seem to know where it came from. I am currently on hold waiting for a CSR to take my call on the 800-655-1491 number that was on a posting.

Subject: FIA CSNA account

Recently a Bank of America Visa card was opened using my name and ssn#. I have reported it and it has been closed. Now, I am getting alerts that a new account, FIA CSNA has been opened on by credit report. Is that associated with the BofA deal or do I need to search for a phone # to report that also.

I just had an updated credit report run for me and FIA CSNA opened a credit card in my name without my person. When I called FIA CSNA, I was told that I do not appear in their system. So they transfered me to their Credit Reporting group, they told me that I was in the system and they asked me to verify information for them. I refused to do so and they sent me to the Fraud Department. There I told them that an account was opened in my name. As they ran through the information on file, it turned out that my mother's maiden name was incorrect and that it appears someone used the information used information that was in a GMAC Mortgage Pre-Approval to fill in the information. Then FIA CSNA transfered me to their Victim Assistance Center, but since it is Veteran's Day, their Victim Assistance Center was closed and they told me to call back. Then the told me that all I need to do was to call them back tomorrow and talk to them and that I didn't need to call my Credit Reporting Company, FIA CSNA would take care of that for me. Safe to say I did call my Experian.

I love it when a company opens up a credit card in you name and then tells you to call back when it appears to be a fraud case.

And no, if anyone is wondering, I do not have any accounts with FIA CSNA or Bank America or any of it various cards.

Does anyone else have the pleasure of being named after your father, thus having the suffix, Jr.?

Back in September I received my three credit reports. Transunion and Equifax were completely accurate. Experian, however, was not. I do not understand this if all 3 agencies are being given the same information.
Anyways, there were, and still are, 2 FIA CSNA accounts appearing on my report. When I called FIA CSNA, I was told the partial account numbers I provided them from the report didn't even exist. I got passed on to another department and somehow they found the information. But they could still not find me in their system. They did ask me if I knew of these 2 people and gave me their names. Turns out the accounts are Regions Bank accounts and belong to my 2 brothers with my father being the co-signer. Great info I think. Now I have the information I need to dispute these items on my report. Been there, done that.

I received the answer to my dispute this afternoon and the "information is verified accurate." So I call FIA CSNA to find out what info they supplied to Experian as accurate. Mysteriously, I am in their system now and showing as the co-signer on those accounts instead of my father. I asked them how to rectify this problem and they wanted to push me off on the Fraud Department. I know it isn't fraud, just a case of getting mixed up with some of my fathers info so I refused to be passed on to someone else. I then asked if they could provide a number for me to call to find out where I can get a copy of the original application I supposedly signed. They couldn't give me any info. They are sending some papers, to my fathers house, for my brothers to sign to remove the responsibility from me. One of my brothers does not have enough income to have a co-signer removed.

I love my brothers, but if one of them defaults on a payment, Universal Default will kick in, and ruin my otherwise excellent credit. Any suggestions on what action, possibly legal, that I can take?

Hi Jamie

All that I can understand from this is that you have your fathers name with the suffix Jr. right? So this is the cause of all the problem. I cannot give any legal suggestions but what I can say here is that you need to be off their accounts as a cosigner. True that if they default once your credit report will also show the defaulter. You can get in touch with a lawyer at naca dot net.
Personally speaking try to talk to FIA CSNA whether they can remove the mistake or not. Things will be straight easily.
