Thanks a lot Chales for the information.
You dont need to close your account with them but make sure that the inquiry is removed. You can also send a dispute letter to the bureau concerned. That might help speeding up the process of the inquiry deletion.

| This information helped me out alot. I received an Equifax Credit check alert, and made a call to the numbers above to find out I got a "Via Platinum' card that I never applied for. Thanx for your help. |

I just had the same thing happen to me..and I specifically said I did not want my credit checked and he told me for that to happen I would have to call when the card got here and then it would happen...
this should be against the law..
it is complete bull!! |

You can file a dispute with the reporting agency, you can do this rather quickly online, just go to annual credit report website and choose the one that you want to dispute it on. I would also write the creditor and let them know about this discrepency. Since you made your payments on time, they should re-report to help you correct the problem. Goodluck, hope you get this straightened out soon.
