I was married for 44yrs. In the divorce hearing I was ordered to pay 1000.00 per month. It's killing me. I am retired with a state retirement and SS? Can my ex garinishe my retirement and SS? If this is the only income deposited into my bank account can she garinishe my account?

Can I file bankruptcy if I only owe around $14,000-15,000. I was served by court last week and I don't know what to do. I have been out from work for a medical leave and now I don't know if I should go back to work if my wages are going to be garnish. I don't own anything, everything is under my husband's name. what happens after the court gives a judgement and I only work 16-24 hours? Is all the paycheck garnish or just a % of it?

My credit card company is suing me for $2,000 because of their claim to late fees...I tried to change my date to send payment as I had recently retired over 2 years ago because of social security payment date. I pleaded with them about it to no avail...the late fees of $35 kept coming even though I made payments. I own a small used trailer, have health issues, cancer survivor, diabetic as well. What am I to do...can't afford an attorney....need advice...
