Global Financial Services

Does anyone know the phone number for Global Financial Services? They told me I could pay off my loan for $35 per pay and would take off $50 after every 5 payments (I originally borrowed $300; when I closed my checking account, they couldn't get money and after them offering the above, saying I owed $1000 with fees, I stupidly gave them my new account information, being relieved that this would get paid off). This has been going on for about a year now and I'm tired of them taking money from me, with apparently no end in sight. I live in Ohio and would appreciate any help in rectifying this.

If I were you I would contact my bank and inform them that company is no longer authorized to remove funds from your account. I would also send a list of all of the payments made and the discounts you should have recieved to GLobal finance and inform them of any overpayment that might have occured. I would also inform them that they have 30 days to either send you a itemized list of accouting prooving that they have a right to that money or you will be forced to seek legal recourse. If they do not comply within the 30 days after receipt I would make a complaint with the BBB and the FTC. After you make your complaints send a second letter to them with copies of the complaint you made to the BBB & FTC. You should inform them that if they do not comply in the next 15 days you are going to contact your local AG.

This should either get them to back off or set you up for a nice slam dunk small claims case, Providing you don't acctually owe them what they claim. If you are unsure you may want to include a DV letter in order to cover your bases.

good luck

I just read your post a bit more closely & I am now doing some math and I figure your payments were probably monthly so, 35x12=420.00 Plus 100.00 worth of payment bonuses. This equals 520.00. Now, IDK if they ever gave you an itemized list of fees that turned your 300.00 debt into 1000.00 but, I would request that. Also, what kind of account is this?

Wow, they have gotten enough money from you!!!! that is for sure. I would take CMB22's advice and send the letters to this company demanding what this balance entails. Follow through with this.

There is a Global Acceptance Company in Dallas, Texas. I've dealt with them before. Is there any 'relation'?

Yes, I think it is the same company, if you do a search on the bbb, they have branches in a few states.

The one in Texas describes themselves as a " law firm" type thing. I dealt with them a few times.........they DON'T have a great rating and, at one time, when I called the number, it was disconnected. A few days later, it was working again.

That would suit them well wouldn't it, A collection agency collecting on a collection agency, now that would be something.
