Hmmmm, when you signed up for the free trail did they charge anything to your account? If they did call the nyumber on the back of your CC and ask them for a contact number for that company.

As far as what they list as contact info on their website;

Thanks for trying! No they haven't charged anything yet. They are supposed to wait for 30 days. I don't have the confirmation email they sent. As far as I can tell, that's the only way to get to the phone number and/or other info to cancel the account. I have already emailed them twice with no response.I was hoping someone who is a member might help me out...give me the phone number or something.

I think there is no need to worry about if you send a mail requesting them to unsubscribe and keep a copy of it in the send folder of your email account. You can alternatively send a copy by certified post to gofreecredit asking them to unsubscribe, to the address mentioned by CMBV. But I think if you have given your email id in the link http://www.savingssavy.info/unsubscribe/, it will be unsubscribed automatically and you need not worry about it.

Subject: GOFREECREDIT PHONE NUMBER & WEBSITE INFO

Posted on Thu Jul 10, 2008 9:28 am

Hi guys,

Anyone who has been trying to cancel their memberships at gofreecredit, their website to log-in is creditreport . com
Then click on Member Login.

And, their phone number is 1-800-720-4420.

I've been waiting for an answer from them for a week. They never answered until I threatened them to call my credit card company and dispute their charge, which was too late.

They never had their phone number listed on their "Terms and Conditions" and they never sent me a confirmation email, and they never informed me about their log-in website.

So, please do me a favor and call them to cancel and B*TCH TO THEM about why there is no information such as log-in link or phone number on their website.

Thanx!

I have never used this service, don't you think the name is kind of tricky, it really is not a free service.

Yes goodnatured. These credit repair companies initially offer free services for a month or so and when people fall in their trap, they charge them with high fees. So I think one should always avoid these credit repair companies and try to repair their own credit by themselves. This would not only save dollars, but also help you learn many things about credit repair.

I agree, I would rather do it on my own.

It seems like there are all kinds of companies out there offering a quick fix for credit scores and in reality it takes a long time to repair credit, I mean, think about it, you did not get in this condition over night. I would read through the forums and try to learn as much as possible and then make a plan, step by step on what to do when. Making a plan and taking detailed notes will help you reach your goal.

I agree with you erb. The main thing is that neither you nor any credit repair company can raise your score fast. Moreover, the time period by which the credit is repaired by both is more or less the same. Then why go for credit repair companies and spend dollars on them when we can repair our own credit and use these dollars to pay off the debt.

Actually the service is cool and it is free. I used it and got my score for free. They did not charge me. When the trial was up, I called to cancel so I wouldnt have to pay, but I decided to keep it. Someone tried to open a credit card in my name and I was alerted about the change to my report. It actually saved my butt.

We all have our personal opinions and if it works for you thats great. I guess there are just alot of people who would rather take the time and do it theirselves. Everybody tries to save these days. i don't mind doing the work myself if it keeps the cash in my my pocket.

After asking for your credit card information, you will be transferred to creditreport.com, cancellation will be very difficult. Do not sign up with them!!!

Yep.....I would go to AnnualCredit Report ( dot)com. At least there you KNOW you get them for free. You can get one CR at a time....that way, I think it's every 4 months, you can get a CR and 'dispute' things on it. I don't know if the site gives you your credit score, though.

Unless you are working hard on rebuilding your credit and expect alot of changes to your score then I would just use the free credit reports that you can pull from the three bureaus. This way you can still monitor your report and be aware of any changes that may be there. Becoming a member to the site really isn't something I need to do but I can see how others would find in useful.
