credit report

I would like to know how many times the same company can look at your credit report. I have had the same company look at my credit report every month for the last 5 years. I am getting so mad because of it cause every time they do it my credit goes down. I am in the process of trying to get it up because my mom didnt pay for bills that she put in my name when I was younger. I tried contacting the credit reporting agencies and they say that if I have ever had anything open with this company then they have a right to look at it. I dont know what they are looking for. There is nothing for them to look for. I have not had any contact with this company in 5 years but they are still hurting my credit report cause they check it every month. Can they do that?

Yes, they can do that. You can contact with that company and request them to stop making inquiries. You can send them a letter requesting to remove such inquiries from your credit report. The following link may help you to write such letter:

If you have paid the entire balance you owed to them, then you can request the company to stop making unnecessary inquires.
