Hey Laura. I have read your posts and understand you have some concern about the Imagine Card. I have had the card for about four months now and have had no problems with it at all. I am 22 years old with a limited credit history, and was given an initial credit line of $70. I have since had two credit increases of $30 each, giving me a current total limit of $130. I did notice I didn't get an increase for the month that I didn't use the card, but that was expected as it is written in the contract. During the first 12 months, you will receive an increase each month so long as your account is still open, you use your card, and make your minimum payment on time. Easy enough, huh?

By the end of 12 months, you have the potential to increase your credit limit by $540, for a total credit line of $610. The annual fee is only $15, and when I opened my account they charged a one-time fee of $4.95 to my bank account. Thus far, the only other fee I have experienced is a $19 fee for each time I received a credit increase (though this fee was not applied for the month I didn't use my card, since I wasn't eligible for a credit increase). This charge is deducted from your available credit.

Anyway, I have not experienced ANY fees that were not outlined in the agreement (the $19 'finance charge' for each time you recieve a credit increase IS disclosed) and as long as you make your payment on time, you won't be charged unnecessary fees for late payment (which, again, is part of the agreement). I have made all my payments on time and I always pay my balance in full - no interest to pay, I build my credit, and get increases all at once.

If you don't like the idea of being charged $19 for each month you receive credit a increase, you can just keep a zero balance and opt not to use your card for x number of months - that way you'll receive no credit increase, and won't be charged the $19 during those months. The agreement also states after the first year, "your account may be reviewed periodically for credit line increase eligibility subject to credit approval".

Anyway, my experience has been a good one and based on other reviews, it seems to me that the majority of people having problems are those who didn't make their payments like they should (or didn't have the money in their accounts when the ETF was initiated). If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Smile

Hi....Anna!! Yeah....when I got the card, I got a $300.00 limit, on the 'first' try!! I was surprised!! Never had a problem. And, as u said, the 'activation fee' was $4.95. A $20.00 payment, is debited from my bank every month. I really love it!! Glad the Imagine Card is helping u, too!!

Wow thanks Anna. I was just concerned because I wanted to know the reason why people are facing trouble. Now I know that its their fault sometimes that is leading to this problem.

My credit history is also not really that huge. At 24 I cant expect it to be a long one though. But I want a clean account anyway. My score is proper now and I dont think i need to take an Imagine card. I was looking for more information because Shelly might opt for one and she was getting offers. (Oh Shelly is a cousin of mine Smile )....we are pretty close. Thanks a lot for the info Anna and Wendy you of course. You said it from the first that its been working good for you. Smile

I hope that in the future, you will be able to recieve a better card. But I am happy that you've found something that works for you.

When did you apply for a Imagine card? The only way ( I think) you can apply is on the Internet. After you filled out the application, the website should have told you, right then, if you were 'approved' or not.

Also........there is an 800 #, on the website, for Customer Service, if you are having problems. Let me know what you find out.

Hi Ronald...I think you have already applied for the card but not received right?

Keep track of the proceedings if possible. This is not the site you are looking for.

I had an imagine credit card, it was okay they aren't all that great. But when it came to paying off the balance and closing the account it was horrible. After two months of closing the account I recived a statement showing I owed them $178, which were maintenance fee charges and late fees. I called them to get this resolved because I didnt owe anything they gave me the run around it took me two more months to get the charges taken off, remind you this account was closed with a zero balance. Now I just recieved another statement saying I owe them another $69 for maintenance fees and a late charge. I have to call them again and resolve this because I owe them nothing. I really regret the day I applied for their credit card.

This credit card company is riddiculous plus you have to deal with customer service from overseas, its frustrating because now they have caused my credit rating to go down.
If you have this card, GOOD LUCK!

" Customer service overseas?" I never new that...wow!! I call a customer service line.it's a recording asking for your credit card 3,etc. Tells me when my next payment is due and what my "balance and available credit" is. I never had a problem, that I had to talk 'live' to a person.
