You are right aprilsjewels. Since credit history contributes the major part of your credit score, maintaining a good credit history, or in other words, repaying the debt on time, helps you to increase your credit score.

| It takes hard work and commitment to get your credit straightened around so if you have good credit always strive to keep it that way. Paying debts on time is not hard if you know when your monthly bill usually arrives. I try to stick everything intop a budget. we get paid every two weeks so I have a list of which bills are do and when. That way I know I am not forgeting any. |

| It is hard when you fall short a few bucks though, I have done it and put something off, I have paid late payments but have always tried to keep it in the 30 day window if at all possible. |

| I have and will rpobaly be there again. I would just love to not have any bills other than my utilities. Once these home bills get paid I don't want to see any more again. At least gas is slowly coming down. I heard something on the news a month or so ago that they were considering a second economic payment..alot less than the last but hey beggars can't be choosers and I still have no clue as to how I am paying fall taxes and getting fuel. That has my stomach in knots. |

Well fireyone,
I just cleaned off my desk, you know the one where you sort the junk from the bills, well my stack is now cleaned up and I have a pretty good picture of where I stand. A little happiness and a little disapointment came out of that mess.
One good point is that I am current on my bills, yeah! I did find some disputes that I filed on my credit report, here is the dissapointment, some of the junk is going to stay on there till April 2011, YUCK, that is still along time. I thought they were much older. They are all paid off, but still linger to haunt me.
So I guess, I have a long time to keep current and establish good payment history till 2011, so once those drop off and I have all these years of good payment history, my score should soar right?

| Hopefully that is what will happen but I imagine you will have to establish a good history somewhere along the line. I know at this point it is hard to get any decent rates on a cc but maybe through time. As the debts get older, evn though they are still on you CR will your score rise? |

| soon but not soon enough huh? Is there anyway you can get some of the bad credit pulled off your report. CMBV seems to have some good advice on here about that, you may want to look further into it. |

| That is probaly best for a while anyway. If your score is too low and sometimes even medium all you get is high interest anyway |

That's what I have found, I have applied for cards there for a while, usually just got a denial or an offer with a really high rate, then those inquiries just lower my score that I was trying to raise. So I have decided that I will just maintain.
