Subject: Remove Bankruptcy 7 and a Civil Judgement.

How do I go about the removal of a bankruptcy 7 and judgement. Bankruptcy is 8 yrs old and judgment is 1 yr. They are both reported wrong from all 3 CRA'S. That being dates, courts name, address, liabilty, asset, ref#'s docket#'s. How would I go about getting them removed due to these inaccuracies?

Sincerely,

Moose

Hello Dakota and welcome to the forum. First of all I do believe that the reporting time for a bankruptsy has passed at the seven year mark. Some states may be a little longer but usually they fall off after seven years of reporting. I had one but it stayed on for ten years. As for the judgement you should be able to dispute it since it is listed incorrectly. You maybe able to get it removed but they aslo may be able to relist it. Judgements can also linger on a report for a period of time. If it is not satisfied it can haunt you.

Thanks fireyone!! I hope to learn a lot from this forum. I would like to purchase a home for my family but need to get a couple issues resolved on my credit report as stated. I will keep the forum updated with my progress. Thanks again.

Hi Dakota_jasper,

If the information in your report is inaccurate, then dispute it with the credit bureau by sending a dispute letter. Normally a bankruptcy stays on for 7 years and a judgment for 10 years.
