I want to refinance my car but my only problem is that my mom's friend is my co-signer! I am paying my bills on time i just want to lower my monthly payments so i thought of refinancing my car. Any advice.

Where do people refinance cars? Actually I think a cosigner would be happy to get off the note.

Hi Bianca,

To refinance a car loan, you first need to get the copies of the original loan. You can then call your lender and ask for the "payoff amount". Lenders generally give 5 to 10 days for the payoff. Then you can choose from the various refinance companies available.
