Does a collection company have to be license registered in Missouri? I need printable proof. LVNV Funding is not registered in Missouri and I need to look at my next course of action.

Yes, the collection agency needs to have a license registered in Missouri. The states in US which does not require a collection agency to have a license to operate includes California, Lowa, Kentucky, Montana, Oklahoma, PA, S. Carolina, and Georgia. If you find a Collection agency operating without a license, you can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

Can the collection company be sued for this act if they are attempting to collect. I filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General and the collection company attempted to not being licensed in Missouri.
