fixing my loan situation

hello. I recently lost a job in May and had to move across the country to find another job. I am currently employed as a public school teacher, but my Citibank loans fell 4 months behind. I get paid October 1st, but don't have any money in the meantime. I am afraid of what will happen if I don't make payments on my loans immediately. They said I would be in default and they would go to a collections agency and I would not be able to really do anything. I am generally a responsible adult who wants to get her life back on track and be an upstanding citizen but I literally have $100 to my name until then. I am looking for help on what to do because I am terrified of messing up my life that has just started to get on track. Please help me if you know what I should do.

thank you,

Stephanie Campeau

Hi s.k.campeau,

Welcome to this community :)

They said I would be in default and they would go to a collections agency and I would not be able to really do anything.

Can I know who are you referring to by they? Did you talk to your creditors and lenders? I think you should explain to them the situation you are in, that you are willing to pay but will be late in making the payments. Mention the reason for your late payment very clearly.

Thanks,

Aaron
