Hello everyone,
Just wanted to say Happy Veterans Day to all the veterans out there. A veteran myself, I understand the sacrifice made by all of you.
Take a moment today or this evening to think about a veteran you may know or knew, thank them for their time and service. Many young men and women are in the face of danger right now as we speak, say a prayer for their safe return and may god watch over them and their families. |

| Great post! Many of us are truly grateful for the service and sacrifices of both our veterans and those currently serving at home and abroad. May God bless you and your families for they are impacted very strongly. We pray that for those serving abroad that you come home safely and for those who have served, we thank you for allowing us to keep the freedoms that we enjoy today |

| Yeah nice tribute to our veterans! We hope that all our soldiers who are over seas come home to their families safely and in the mean time, we hope they know that they have the support of millions here at home |

| Pennsylvania is one of the most deployed states, we have another huge deployment next summer. I can't imagine the agony of knowing that your are going over there. I would be sick as a family member knowing that my loved one was going off to Iraq. |

I know good. My sister is dating a marine right now who is stationed in North Carolina and he is being deployed this coming February. Understandably his disposition and emotional stability has changed and they are having some problems. hopefully they'll be there for each other for with a father suffering from PTSD, acutely, she has some understanding , but unless you're physically being deployed it's very difficult for someone who is not in the military to understand. We can only pray for their family members as well. I didn't know PA was one of the most deployed and another deployment all we can do is pray and support them here. |

| Yes it would be a nice gesture, I truly believe prayers are powerful. Prayer for their family members would be good too...this would be a good night, Sun if we all said prayers for all the men and women who are serving |

Yeah, my veteran numbers have tripled since I took the job, amazing how many young men and women from Pa are now having the honor to be called a veteran. Some have been deployed 2 and 3 times already, I ask "is there such a thing as being overdeployed?" We have alot of engineer, military police and grunt units here in Pennsylvania. I would be choosing my MOS a little more carefully if I was re enlisting these days. The recruiters are having a hard time meeting their quotas, the education and bonus benefits are through the roof. Once recruiters wife is about to leave for basic training here soon.
I have seen alot of young men and women come back with the adjustment issues and now they are talking about shorter leave terms for them while they are deployed.
The veterans administration is pumping tons of money into the mental health issues of veterans, some key issues are did 9/11 stir up the vietnam veterans ptsd issues, alot of them are now coming forth with mental health issues, like anxiety, depression, etc.
This isn't counting the young men and women that are coming back with issues, the money is there and programs are in place to help them. |

$600,000,000,000 (est) = amount of money treating our Iraqi War veterans will cost, over their lifetimes

| I went to the veterans day parade this year, I was really surprised at the number of younger men and women in uniform this year. I was glad to see them all out and taking part in the parade, it is nice to see the crowd waving and giving them the appreciation that they deserve. |

It surprises me as as well. Do we have so many in this country? LOL. But its a grand view. Really worth watching. I took few snaps and am proud that I did participate in the same parade few years back. |
