recognize this number?

Does anyone recognize this number: 866-216-0327... I am wondering if it is yet another collector. The debt I had is past SOL and I really do not feeling like answering yet another collectors calls. Probably bought the debt recently and I may have to pull up the cease and desist. I have tried to look it up myself but haven't had any luck.

It is the toll free number of Birds and Blooms, the birding and gardening magazine. If you have at certain point of time applied for subscription for the magazine or have subscribed to the magazine, they might have called you for the renewal of the subscription.

Oh gee. I never even applied for a magazine like this! I am also on the do not call. How did you find the number when I searched everywhere and could not? Thaks for finding it though.

I've put myself on 'Do Not Call' lists, all over the place. And..people continue to call. Really gets me irritated.

What is really irritating is all these election calls. They called my house on a Sunday at 9 a.m. Then the collectors that call for the people that use to won my number. I usually get a collection call every few months from a debt that is past sol. Would have gladly paid it before the SOL was up but they would not work woth me. A $300 debt turned to over $2000 and I wasn't paying 70% of that ridiculous amount. I just wanted to know because usually when they start calling me they have already called a few famly members and I just wanted t know if I had to listen to them complaining about the place calling them. You knw how some people NEVER make mistakes. It was during a very bad period of my life and they (family) know this. The last do not call list had expired so you may have to go and resign up SD if you are getting a lot of these calls.

fireyone,

you should call them back and tell them you did not get a subscription from them, they will start billing you soon.

I don't even know how they even ever got this number. I am thinking the owner of this old phone number probaly had a subscription with them. I have been getting alot of these since it has been almost a year and I think they really just are looking for her.

Thanks I did but that has not stopped the calls. Some are courtesy and other are collectors. These people have massive debt and I got their old number. The last one that called I told them I was getting aggravated and I was not Kimberley. They said are you so and so. I said yes why...she said I believe you..we have skip tracers and that is who they say this number is registered too. So why the heck are thye bothering me if they know this isn't the ladys number?

Hi fireyone
Since you are sure you do not owe the debt, there is no need to bother about their calls. Even if they call you up, you can disconnect the line immediately. Only if they send you a debt validation notice after calling you up over phone, you can send a debt validation letter. But I don't think that they will do so because even if they send you the letter, they must send it in the name of the lady on whose name the debt is. You can also make a complain against them to the FTC and the State AGs office if they continue disturbing you.

Yes but they keep selling her debts or something and it all starts over again. I am considering the number change idea. What I can not figure out is if they have skip tracing available and it comes up in my name surely they see it is not who they are looking for so why do they keep calling back?

I don't know why it is not a violation of our privacy to have our information out there like that. Think about it, you can pay to have your number private and a bill collector can still get their greedy little fingers on it, they are unreal the access that they have. It just blows my mind.

I think their needs to be some type of government regulation on what is accessable to these companies. I also think along with the fees that they are charging. They need to revamp this whole process.

Yep..I asked the collecotr on the phone my self. I said " this is an endless process and soon as I change my number the next person may have to deal wiht this crap and what if I get another number where there are collectors? Can I get my number unlisted and this will stop?" She said in her triumphy voice.."NOPE...we have special equipment like skip tracers and we can get anyones number." I told her if they called here again I was going to start using my own special euipment and start reporting them. (telephone). I may just start finding it profitsble when they have to pay for aggravating me.
