Subject: Car insurance going up

I was wondering if anyone seen or look to see an increase in their car insurance? My company just told me that the rates for the entire state of Pennsylvania will go up. This increase will be around $168 every six months for me, this is an incredible increase, is anyone else that is from Pa getting this hike too. I posed a similar question on the insurance forum and wondering because I know there are a few people here from Pa.

That is a big jump, did your company say why the state raised it or where you could find that information? Maybe the people that are on the insurance forum can give you some type of explanation, or lead you to a place where you can find an answer. Have you examined your policy to see what areas of the insurance went up, did it all?

No explanation, just that it is statewide, I am searching around the insurance forum and have some really good people there looking at my levels of insurance for me, see if I can adjust it any to save some money. I still have some time to figure all of this out, My new policy is renewed in February, so I have a little over a month yet. Hopefully I can come up with some savings. I am shopping around too. so we shall see.

You have plenty of time to shop for new insurance then, you can use all the online resources that are available and as you stated you are using the insurance forum for advice also, I plan to go there and sign up also there. I am sure you are getting some good information there. I may make it there sometime today. Wanted to take some more time and scan through this forum first.

Yes, I have about a month, I probably will just end up paying the premium, changing insurance company is a pain in the rear end. I am getting some real good advice on coverages in the insurance forum, have you made it there yet? There is some good stuff there.

It maybe a pain to change insurance carriers.. Everyone's situation is different of course. However, I would most certainly check other companies out..... It may just pay off.... Never know until you look..

well dont surprise me in the slightest. everything is going up but wages. seems like if you do get a raise they just up everything so you dont really get a raise. i know thier there to make money but how much do they need in one year.if it wasnt car insurance it would be something else my fire insurance also was raised. my health insurance went up to almost match my disability raise. figure that one out.

Wow, you are a bucket of cheer Very Happy just kidding, I have decided through much research to drop my truck to liability, we rarely ever drive it and it is paid off, so that will save me about $250 a year, this was a really hard decision for me and I will probably change my mind again before I pick up the phone. Wink
