Hey Da...someone from work once gave me deer weenies, I don't eat deer but my hubby does. apparently he took those things to hockey and he grilled them after the game. must have been a hit, never heard a complaint from them. I know my roommate tricked me once and put it in the hamburger helper. I'm not an expert by any means, but imagine you could do anything with that stuff eh? dacos (deer tacos hee hee), bbq, I even had a 'pot roast' where the family substituted the deer for the beef.

maybe some deeny weenies Wink

My hubby got a buck, we will do just about anything that we will do with beef, this year though it is all sausage and jerky, except for a few pieces for my mother in law and another lady at work. He still has doe season to come, so we will have more to do cuts with. I like it deep fried, it is surprisingly good that way, not greasy at all, just add a little garlic powder.

Never tried it deep fried, sounds good, I just get tired of the same old, same old. I did buy a game cookbook but I think a few of those guys go a little over board, way too involved. Guess it is there specialty and they go crazy with it.

I've heard that...Cabelas is a really hot place to get that kind of food, elk moose, venison, etc. there's lines to the cafe all the way through the store. not a fan of the food but love the place!

I always go online and look for differnt jerky recipes. no matter how I make it it never last at my house everyone loves it. my kid takes it to school and his friends all ask if they could buy some off him. he come home telling me and can makes lots of money if I would make him a lot of jerky. of course I do the work and he makes the money lol, whats wrong with that picture? I'm glad he is thinking about making money, thats a good thing.now if he will watch and learn he can do the work too,but I dont see that anytime soon.that wouldn't be a typical teen now.

I came across a venison stir fry recipe, it sounds good, I am going to do a brief description for you. Cut the venison up into strips, fry until brown and fully cooked. Add spices, like garlic, onion salt and other spices to taste. Add you favorite vegetables and cook on low until vegetables are done to your desired state. I am going to try adding some Worchester sauce to this recipe. I think it would be a good added taste.

hey all I my hubby doesnt like deer meat but he sure likes my deer jerky.you can make jerky in the oven but I like it better in a dehydrater.all you have to do is combine the following things.
1 1/2 c.soy sauce 1/2 cworchestsire sauce
1 1/2 oz. liquid smoke 3 tblsp seasoning salt
2 tblsp pepper 2 oz hot sauce
you cut your meat real thin and leave it soak in the mixture for at least 3-4 hours I do it over night. then dehydrate it some like it moist some like it done well its all up to you .I do mine for 5-6 hours I like to make sure its done.

I hate liquid smoke, hate the smell, hate the taste. I make jerky but leave the smoke out. YUCK!
