Hi ya'll!! My son and I had the flu, for a while. Feeling better, however!! Can't wait to start posting again!! Good to 'see' ya'll again. Happy posting! :D

Everybody got that fr3akin flu, including me. I drinked a ton of tee with lemons & honey to get back to normal. Maybe if I wasn't sitting in front of my computer all day I would have cured faster. Welcome back to you too :)

Thanks, Laura! Morningstar I have never received a fly shot in my life because I am usually not getting sick. The problem with me is the dust in my apartment when I don't clean it every week I get sick. But since I bought a Rainbow vacuum cleaner I live a new life!

Seriously guys...prevention is better than cure. I would never want such a feeling again. Take care and you can go for the shot for sure...much better than experiencing the flu.

I've been so sick for a week. I thought that I was ok three days ago and it actually got worse. But anyway, after drinking a ton of tea, eating a ton of lemons, HALLS, Airborne and apples, grape and other fruits I am almost cured. Without any antibiotics :D

Hey guys all I have to say is that keep yourself safe and take all precautions. Once is enough if at all when it comes to flu. Wendy I am talking specifically about your son. He is young and mingles with many. A flu once decreases immunity to some extent. So a second time wont be good.

Take care :|

Thanks for the advice. I don't know if you ever saw on the newa, Laura, that some schools, have athletes, that 'caught' some kind of infection. Well..........some of the football players ( or I should say some other schools) had 'away' games, here in 'my'area. Now...the schools here are REALLY being cautious. Sending out letters, e-mails, etc. about this. Really 'informing' eveyone about side effects, etc.

Yes I have seen that. Everyone is on alert I know. So just giving out words of caution :D. I really dont want anyone to suffer more.

We work with the public, so sick people are coming in all the time. This flu is bad, it totally takes you out. We constantly wash our hands, they are saying that it is the best prevention to keep it from spreading, so far, so good, I haven't been sick yet. Just one way, I am sure there are many others. Maybe we could list our ideas for prevention.

My hubby was having a hard time breathing, congestion was kicking his rear. I bought him a Neti Pot, if you guys have not heard of it, google it, it is wonderful. Cleans out your whole nasal cavity, so if some of your symptoms are sinus, this works. It is only about $12.50 and you get 50 treatment packets with it, it is a bargain that works. You can get it at any drug store or other store that carries this type of item.

I keep a set of blocks at work for the smaller children to play with when they come in with their parents, I use a disinfectant spray on them. I would keep an eye on the toys that your children are picking up in a community atmosphere, like doctors offices and other places that have toys out for children to play with. Something so innocent can pass a germ or infection quickly. Small children have a habit of putting things in their mouth or putting their fingers in their mouths after touching things. I would hesitate to let my daughter play with things in these settings, if you have to carry a small toys or book with you for these situations, that way you child is playing with something that you know is clean.

Yes we can list the ideas here.

* Try to confine yourself to home during the flu attack and do not move out unless you are not completely cured. Going to office might get a dozen people into the same list.
* Keep yourself clean and wash yourself with antiseptic soap. Keep your hands clean because that is what comes into contact with other parts of your body.
* Avoid junk and street food. Try sticking to home made food.
* Try to maintain a safe distance from people already experiencing the flu
* Take the flu shot...that will help :)

Laura,
You make an excellent point about staying home from the office, I think that often when people come to work sick. We deal daily with the public and have public computers, so the potential to get sick is really high. Thanks for the great post.

I have to get a flu shot every year now, my heart would be in terrible trouble if I got sick. I have to be very cautious, I can't afford it healthwise or money wise to get sick.

Hopefully ya'll will stay healthy, this winter. I work with the Elderly.....sometimes it can be difficult ariund the Winter time ( they have colds, etc) trying to take care of them. But.I'm gald I have the opportunity to. I wash my hands ALL the time, dealing with as much stuff as I deal with.

Do you work in a facility or in their homes. I know the facilities are really tough on the hand washing because a common cold can be much more devastating to an elderly person. I hope you stay well this winter, keep the vitamin C close by and make sure you get your daily dose, that is a good prevention method. goodluck.

Hi All, winters can be really harmful specially with the flu on. Just take enough precaution because prevention is better than cure. Drink a lot of water to keep toxins out and stick to home made stuff. Dont even look at the ones in open air...guys pollution is really high.
