Stay away from the inshower lotions as ur drying ur body off it actually dries ur skin even worse and can cause chaffing. Try not to use hot water make sure it is luke warm, just warm enough that u don't get cold, my daughter has this problem and this is what we do for her we used Aveeno for 1 month (the body wash for dry skin) then Aveeno lotion twice daily after and now we have no more problem by using regular dial liquid soap and whatever lotion I have on hand.

Liquid soap has the soft element which nourishes and keeps skin. _________________ Regards,

When I take care of elderly people, I put the vasoline on the soles of their feet and then put their socks on for the overnight if they have severe cracks, it seems to work really well on them. Not real sure that you would want vasoline all over you, but it you have a problem area, you could target that area anyway.

don't use lotions/cream with alcohol in it. I use jergins firming cream or cocoa butter but either way relax on it because stress will do your skin in. Have a glass of wine and put creams on after every shower and before every clothing change. Sometimes certain fabrics are sensative to some skins. Take Care Dear

Well erb,
A pretty homely solution is to soften the skin there. Three drops of mild shampoo in luke warm water can work wonders to soften the skin. Then apply the vasoline. It will be more effective in that case.
Just my two cents _________________ Regards,

Loads of lotion, every day, three times a day. I found that you have to buy good lotion, not the cheap stuff, it seems to just disappear and not do any good, one good bottle of lotion will last you through a winter season.

Cooking oil, wasn't that messy? I would think that would be sticking to the tub and all over the place.

Depends on what oil you are cooking with. lol
Guys use oil-free creams. I think it works. I am bad at deciding on this. _________________ Regards,

I have heard that oatmeal is used to dry out skin conditions, I don't think I would be using it, sounds like you need something with healing properties, like aloe and lanolin. There are lots of lotions out there that have both of these ingredients in them. If you condition gets too bad, you should go to your doctor and see if he/she will prescribe something.

These home remedies have always had some strange ingredients to me, but they are known to work. I used to take powdered milk and put it in the bath tub, it would leave you smelling like milk that is for sure, it is so relaxing, I see it is one of the ways that you have listed here, I would try it dadummy, you can get a box of powdered milk pretty cheap, it really does nourish your skin.
