Hi, ya'll. Just wanna say becareful on the roads this winter. Especially with 'Black Ice'. I was drving home and hit 'Black Ice'. My car went out of control, I hit a guard rail, and hurt my back. Just a warning to all!!.....watch the snowy, slick roads!!

I am glad to hear that you are ok, black ice can be so scary, it comes out of nowhere, you can't see it coming. I had that experience a few years ago in a little tracker I had, the wheel base was so short, I think all four wheels hit it at once, I ended up jumping a curb and seriously thought I was gonna roll it. It only lasted about 45 seconds but it felt like forever. Becareful out there girl, we want you here on the forum and doing well. Glad to hear that you are ok. Where do you live, what state?

I put a post out there, but no one has answered it yet, it won't collapse for me and is interferring with my ability to read the entire post. Is yours in the way?

Take a really hot bath and then stretch it out. When my back is out I make the tub as hot as I can stand it and put a hot towel on it in the tub, it works wonders. Hopefully you will feel better soon.

Pennsylvania is known for its winter weather, Becky the city is beautiful around the holidays isn't it. I would never want to live in the city, but they do a bang up jobs in the store fronts. It is nice to walk and see them all, that will put you in the spirit.

I have a friend who just moved to the area, she says they are all starting to gear up for the holiday season.

I thought West Virginia was bad for its winters and for some reason it's know as the mountain state even though there isn't a true mountain in sight. but i have to say that PA has WV beat winter wise at times. It's not all bad, very pretty but at times I dread icing off that car in the mornings. I used to do that when hubby broke his leg but could still drive to work. all in all it isn't bad

From what I understand we are supposed to have a mild winter this year again, I hope so, I don't mind the snow but the cold temps and the roads drive me crazy.

Tue, 11/13/2007 - 11:26 Permalink

that would be nice. my parents live in West Virginia but were originally from PA. they say and i know this from living there for almost 18 years, that in remote areas it's very tough. once when i was little we lost our power for a solid week and the snow was 6 or so feet high. thankfully my parents have a wood stove that heated the house. we didn't have a generator then so we ate thanks to the stove and stayed warm. we would melt ice into water to flush the toilets but my dad asked us to go to the bathroom outside sometimes :( guess he didn't want us to plug up the country toilets. is that tmi? hee

sd, you must have gotten it, you answered me, LOL. Thanks for the answer, appreciate you taking the time.

You sound like one hard working woman, I was in the National Guard after a long time on active duty, until I became medically unfit to deploy and they put me out on a medical.

Thu, 11/15/2007 - 01:38 Permalink

i was deployed......Feb 2003-Apr 2004. Sure missed my son!! Good experience, though. I'm proud to serve..that's for sure!!

sdchargers,
I bet you did miss your son and he missed you too. I would not want to be deployed these days, that area the troops are occupying is tooo hot, seems like weekly we hear about a death or a disabling of a soldier. Glad you came home safe.

Be very careful Da. Its good that you found a doctor who believes in you. Right diagnosis is required for anyone to get cured.
