Suing Collection Companies!

Can you sue a collection company in court for punitive damages as well as harassment damages and FDCPA violations. Does anyone have case law they can share. Any information is helpful

Yes, if the collection agency harasses you for the debt you do not owe, you can send a cease and desist letter to the collection agency. However, before sending such a letter you should be sure that you do not owe them any money because as soon as they receive the C and D letter, they will move your account to legal status. You should also file a complaint with the FTC.
