a sherrif came to our home for my husband. He was not home left it with me. Can they do that. how do we stop this if he was never given notice before.

Greetings all,
My name is Louis & I'm currently living in the fine state of Washington. My credit started to take a dive around the age of 34 when I could no longer keep up with CC debt. I was advised a bankruptcy was best (I think this is right b4 the laws got stricter) & I went for it. I did learn a very valuable lesson about using CCs, & today I ONLY use my bank's credit/debit card.
Well now I'm 40, & my recent $$$ problems stem from outstanding hospital stay charges (both my Wife & I are listed as defendants.) I'll soon post all the details & questions in the proper forum, & I'm hoping I can get some advice on where to go from here. I've been reading here most of the day & I've already learned quite a bit!

Hi guys, I am new to the site, but not new to removing debt from my credit report.... I was victim of ID Theft, by my dad before I turned 18.
Nothing like going to the Car Dealer 1 week after turning 18 and having the dealer laugh at you.... Seems I had 3 repos on my report, and water bill in default in TN, a state I have never been to.... Fighting them off took a lot of time, and I was finally able to get my credit score up to a 790 while I was in the Military. Then I got hurt in combat, divorced and was medically discharged all in a 2 year span. Well my life was headed down, and so was my credit score.... all the way to 521. That was in 2005, well since then I have managed to get my debt settle, and the unverified stuff dropped. My score is back to a 691 now.... All this without the use of Credit counseling, or Credit repair.
If you have credit problems, take the time to read the Fair Credit Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. I also recommend Pre-Paid Legal, I have had them for over 10 years now, and I use them a lot to ask questions about the law, and with understanding all that legal vocabulary. They will also write a letter on your behalf to those stubborn collectors that are walking that fine line of legal vs. illegal acts.
With my limited time on this site, I am very impressed in what I see. The sample letters, and vast knowledge here is great.
I hope I can be helpful to some, and learn from others.

| Hello. About two years ago i started repairing my credit using dv letters to credit agenices, and i got everything removed. I checked my credit last night, and there was an entry on there for nco fin. Have anybody heard of them. The origional creditor was not listed. |
