Subject: prayers needed please

| I see these types of posts in the other forums and so i hope that this will be accepted here too. I just found that my 19 year old cousin who just received a scholarship for football was playing tonight and got hit by a kid late (late hit) and fractured a rib that punctured his lung. last i heard his lung was collapsed and they are trying to inflate the lung and repair any other damage that may have been done. we're not sure about loss of blood or anything. additionally, my father who will be 65 soon fell on the ice recently and had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital. he's having severe back pain and my parents live in the middle of nowhere with no family or friends. we need prayers please and thoughts. thank you all so much, you've been very supportive and our family could sure use that support now |

Debt, everything will be okay, we are all here for you, thinking about you and your family through out this terrible time. Is your dad up moving around? How is your mother taking all this?

| I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I hope everything turns out ok, it is tough when an older parent falls sometimes this can lead to a long recovery, hopefully he will bounce back soon. |

oh thank you all so much! i have chills because of all the support here...I just got word that my younger cousin injured playing football now has chest tubes as they are trying to inflate his lungs. those tubes will have to stay in for several days. when hospital staffed went to move him (protocol) he passed out  there are several fractured ribs and further xrays will determine whether other damage to the spleen and other organs happened. so now it's a waiting game. I"m concerned about my aunt and uncle though. my uncle is to go into surgery soon for his back and my aunt has been in and out of hospitals for the past 2 years now suffering from kidney stones. it alked to her today, she's not in good emotional shape so thank you thank you thank you for all your prayers! they do work
on a better note and kinda funny, my father is doing a little better but he's a bit drugged. they gave him a heavy pain killer and he's on top of the world for a bout an hour after he takes them and i can tell. he says that they only last for about an hour but that he's grateful for the relief. he sounds stronger too so it doesn't sound like that fall was as bad as we all thought. he's watching football in his comfy chair but doing little physical activity. you guys are awesome and good, especially you...thank you! you've always been very supportive of me as a member here on the forums... Mom is taking this surprisingly well, she has to though she's the strong one right now and dad really appreciates her being there to help him.have a good night everyone talk with you soon |

sorry to hear about your nephew, hopefully his youth will be on his side for a quick recovery.
Your dad sounds like a tough guy, a little doped up isn't bad in this case, probably helps him with the pain. Is he home now? Hope your mom is taking some time out for herself and resting to keep up with him. It would not be good if she let herself get rundown and then got ill herself, make sure you tell her to take care of herself. they sound like they have a wonderful marriage.
I hope everything starts looking up for you debt, better days ahead I am sure. |

| thanks so much crackerjack! yes dad is home he just went into the ER for a short time and then somehow was able to drive home bless his heart. my mother is a rock i swear. when i was younger my baby sis was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and had febrile seizures all the time. i still have this image where she was rushing my sister in to the ambulance, she twisted her ankle and actually broke it but still rushed my sis to the ambulance not missing a stride. she's just so strong i can only hope to be half as strong as her. I feel that better days are ahead too and it's my prayer that everyone here has a beautiful holiday and that the new year brings more blessings than you can ever expect. lots o' hugs |

| that is great about your sister, are you two close? I bet you are. I read some of the stuff you write about your baby, he sounds so sweet, hope he is adjusting well to you going to work. Nothing like coming home to a baby that misses his mama all day long, bet he is a bundle of joy, should enjoy christmas with all the lights and decorations. Don't forget to spend some time with him and just with him over the holidays, you will not have alot of time off just starting a new job. time flies, in no time he will be on forums writing about you. Hope you have a real nice holiday and hope your family gets back on their feet soon. You are seriously in my thoughts and prayers. |

Prayer does amazing things, positive thoughts do too, debt glad to hear that dad is doing better, hope mom is getting a break every now and then so she don't get worn out. crackerjack is right, no sense in both of them being down.
any updates on your cousin?

| I know what it is like to be tired and worn out, you can get sick very quickly and the thing is you are so worried about the one that you are taking care that you ignore yourself, soon you both are down and out and no one is taking care of anyone. |
